* ThouShaltNotKill: Ben lives by this principle and refuses to flat out kill anyone. If they're too dangerous, such as with Kevin's rampage, he will abandon this rule altogether.

* StaticCharacter: Rook's overall personality doesn't change much over the course of the show. [[TropesAreTools It isn't a bad thing]] since he's such a well RoundedCharacter already that she doesn't really need much development.

* TheKirk: Of the original series.
* LethalChef: He is not exactly a ''bad'' cook, he just has very... weird tastes in matter of food and ingredients (termites and squid to give examples). Gwen, Ben and most regular humans are creeped out just by looking at this, but some aliens, like Xylene and Rook, are quite fond of it.

* {{Badass}}: How much badass is DependingOnTheWriter, but the fact he has been regularly fighting aliens, mutants, sorcerers and other opponents using an alien weapon he had to learn how to use of his own, and ''still'' managed to become one of the most powerful heroes in the setting speaks legion about it.

* TookALevelInDumbass: Taken to {{Flanderization}} levels on both his teenage self ''and'' his 10-year old self, making them both much more bumbling, clumsy and immature while removing a large amount of his badassery from ''Alien Force''. He does have occasional smart moments, but for the most part, he makes his Original Series self look like a genius.
* TookALevelInJerkass: Happens to his 10 years old self in ''[[WesternAnimation/Ben10Omniverse Omniverse]]'', whose obnoxious BrattyHalfPint characterizations are taken UpToEleven compared to the original show.

* CharacterizationMarchesOn: The original series portrayed him as a rather generic BrattyHalfPint IdiotHero with one big ChronicHeroSyndrome. ''[[WesternAnimation/Ben10AlienForce Alien Force]]'''s first two seasons then matured him into a responsible leader with some MessianicArchetype tendencies and amplified his chronic hero syndrome; in season 3, the writers took the liberty of making him more like his younger, immature self... [[TookALevelInDumbass a little too much like his younger self]]. Fortunately, by ''Ultimate Alien'', they moderate his competence and silliness as opposed to focusing on one or the other. ''Omniverse'' dials down the immaturity somewhat, and instead focuses more on the fact that he's been in this superhero business for years, and thus [[GenreSavvy knows the ups, downs, lefts, and rights]], likely to [[{{Foil}} contrast]] him with Rook's heavy training but small experience in the field.

* IdiotHero: DependingOnTheWriter; over the course of the franchise, he has been variably portrayed as truly stupid, only BookDumb, [[BrilliantButLazy perfectly capable of being smart but too immature to bother doing so most of the time]] or even sometimes as a borderline CloudCuckooLander. That being said, he has enough moments of cleverness and GenreSavvy to make his IdiotHero status an InformedAttribute.

* GenreSavvy: Depending on the episode, but being a superhero fan to begin with, he has his moments:
** [[spoiler:Though he initially believes Simian's fake WarriorPrince story, he starts having suspicions at the very first clue, and ends up [[OutGambitted Out-Gambitting]] him.]]
** When Captain Nemesis challenged him to come and fight him while using kidnapped Julie and Jennifer for a SadisticChoice, he [[spoiler:has Gwen and Kevin come with him in secret so they can save the girl he won't be able to save on his own.]]
** In "Ultimate Power", he is lucid enough to keep one of his Echo Echo clones hidden in his car while the others goes to fight [[spoiler:Kevin]]. Later in the same episode, he [[spoiler:anticipates Darkstar's ChronicBackstabbingDisorder and instructs Cooper into preparing in consequence.]]
** In "The Ultimate Enemy", he immediately deduces that Vilgax would never submit to Diagon unless he has something in his sleeve. [[spoiler:[[EvilerThanThou He is]] [[DidYouJustScamCthulhu right]].]]

* GenreBlind: In ''Ultimate Heist'', he fails to realize [[EvilTwin Albedo]] is with him instead of Ben despite all the [[OutOfCharacterAlert Out-of-Character Alerts]], because he is too happy to see Ben following his advice for once.
