Spelling/grammar fix(es)

-->'''Wicker:''' Riddler's really got it in for you, you know. Seriously, I've never seen a guy so obsessed. He'll get you sooner or later, Bat. Either that, or you'll drive him mad. It used to be funny, you know, you'd haul Eddie in and he'd sit in his cell lecturing anyone who'd listen about how stupid you were. And the, one day, it just wasn't funny anymore. It was pathetic. He stopped taking care of himself, got that crazy look in his eyes. I swear, man, he's broken. ''You'' broke him. And now you threw me in here for feeling sorry for him. Screw you!

* FantasticRacism: Shares the prejudices against metahumans and aliens that other recent Luthors have. Militia members can be heard discussing how he's made it a policy position while running for President.

* AdaptationalAttractiveness: In the stinger of ''Origins'' and her role in ''Blackgate'' she's noticeably much slimmer then we normally see of her, more akin to her ''ComicBook/{{New 52}}'' look. ''Assault on Arkham'' returns her to her usual look, apparently having bulked up since those eight years, and flipped right back in ''Kill the Justice League'' where she reverts back to her slimmer appearance.
* AdaptationalVillainy: Hands down the most spiteful, vicious, and unsympathetic version of this character to date, at least if you don't count her DCEU version.
* AxCrazy: Downplayed, but this version of her is very ruthless and violent.
* BatmanGambit: [[spoiler:Batman even calls her on it at the end of the film. * BlackBossLady: She's in charge of the Suicide Squad.
* TheCameo: She appears only once in the ''Origins'', and once in ''Origins Blackgate'', each with a few lines. She finally steps into the spotlight in the ''[[WesternAnimation/BatmanAssaultOnArkham Assault on Arkham]]'' animated movie.
* FormerlyFat: While in her classic overweight appearance in ''Assault on Arkham'', DLC for ''Underworld'' takes place afterward and reused Waller's ''Origins'' design, hence Waller lost that weight.
* FormerlyFit: During ''Origins'', she has a slender, New 52-esque appearance. By ''Assault'', she's gained a substantial amount of weight and looks more like her classic comics design.
* HateSink: We clearly aren't supposed to like her in this continuity.
* LateArrivalSpoiler: She's a very advertised part of ''Assault on Arkham'', taking away from the surprise of her prior cameos.
* TheManBehindTheMan: Implied to have set up the [[VideoGame/BatmanArkhamOriginsBlackgate Blackgate uprising a few months after Christmas]] as a testing ground to find who to employ to her ComicBook/SuicideSquad.

* TokenGoodCop: In ''Origins'', James Gordon is the only honest cop among the GCPD during Bruce's early years as Batman, even if he initially opposed Batman for being a vigilante. That said, he still had the flaw of being a HorribleJudgeOfCharacter, naively believing that the majority of the police force had the same sense of right and wrong as he does and thinks that their badges prove they work within the law. One of his most egregious examples is when he puts blind faith in Branden solely because he's a cop, despite the fact that Branden has proven time and again that he's a Dirty Cop who hates his sense of justice. Barbara correctly points out that he "put[s] way too much faith in the system".

As per Averted Trope guidelines, instances where a trope does not occur, or is not a relevant fit, should not be added to a work page, unless in certain exceptional circumstances. The first bullet here is also Not A Subversion, as there is no bait and switch involved.

* DeadlineNews: Very nearly averted in the second game. Joker phones her with an anonymous tip about Batman to lure her to the city then blows her copter out of the sky. She survives only to be targeted by snipers which Batman manages to stop.

* WardensAreEvil:
** Subverted. He's a bit of a weed who's complicit in Gotham's corruption and doesn't run Blackgate very well, but he's a peach compared to Sharp or Ranken. That said, he did pressure a psychologist to redact an insanity diagnosis, [[PayEvilUntoEvil with the express intention of ensuring a death penalty for the (admittedly homicidal and unrepentant) inmate in question]].
** Completely averted in his 2nd appearance in ''VideoGame/BatmanArkhamOriginsBlackgate'', when he refuses the opportunity to escape the prison to save his own skin because he wants to help protect his staff. Even Batman gives him a respectful response when he's still determined to stay and help even after being tortured by the Joker.

* DidntThinkThisThrough: His decision to work for Riddler in an era where thhe the GCPD is more honest and less forgiving towards a DirtyCop (not to mention Batman shows no mercy to them) shows that said decision was poorly thought out. * SkewedPriorities: Due to his greedy DirtyCop personality, Branden is more concerned about the fifty million dollar bounty on Batman's head than the actual criminals terrorizing the streets of Gotham.

* {{Egopolis}}: Portraits and photos of him are everywhere in Arkham Asylum, and a large statue of himself sits outside the Visitor Center. One of the first things the escaped inmates do is build a bonfire around the latter.

* HorribleJudgeOfCharacter: Despite witnessing the corruption of the police force first-hand in ''Arkham Origins'', he still naively believed that the majority of the police officers had the same sense of right and wrong as he does and the fact that they have a badge means they work within the law. One of his most egregious examples is when he puts blind faith in Branden solely because he's a cop, despite the fact that Branden has proven time and again that he's Dirty Cop who hates his sense of justice. Barbara correctly points out that he "put[s] way too much faith in the system".

* DemotedToExtra:
** In the second game. Though considering he was a hostage in the first game, he probably isn't complaining.
** He gets slightly more involvement in "Harley Quinn's Revenge", though. Just a few lines in a conversation with Batman, some other chatter on the radio and off, and a conversation at the end, but more than in the game proper.
** Gets much larger roles in ''Origins'' and ''Knight'', which makes sense as both games showcase Batman and Gordon working together, side by side.
