History Characters / Back

* KnightTemplar: Compared to the other Sheriff's, Queenie's driven by ideology more than greed. [[spoiler:She knows of the truth of the world, that their planet is on the back of a sleeping giant. What's more, she sees the end that the cowgirl promises them as just punishment for the drilling and harvesting of its blood. She wants to overthrow Dang and defeat Abigail to bring the world back into balance on her own terms]].

* MrExposition: She tells Daniel and the Audience about King Dang's rule [[spoiler:he's likely a lot older than he claims to be and seems to predate written history]]. She explains how Dang rules the towns through his sheriff's, how people came to accept his leadership, and [[spoiler:the eldritch nature of the world]].

* AmbiguouslyEvil: The witch plays their cards close to their chest and doesn't reveal their motives until late into the comic. Many of their actions appear sinister and they both helps and hinders King Dang.

* WalkingSpoiler: They're one of the comic's first characters and the one who's true nature remains a mystery for the longest amount of time. It's not until the finale that the audience learns [[spoiler:that they're the BigBad, an entity born from the planet much like Abigail]].

* UnfortunateNames: Like many characters in the strip, he's got a silly name. It's even referenced when Dang drops a profanity with the F word speech bubble cutting to Frick.

* GangOfHats: They've got an old fashioned religious/pilgrim theme to them.

* FourEyesZeroSoul: Her glasses get a very unique focus compared to all of the other bespectacled characters. They stand out as two ominous circles of light against her dark silhouette. When she's revealed in full her eyes are easy to see through her spectacles compared to most other glasses-wearing characters who's pupils are concealed. They add a lot to her already expressive face.

* RaiseHimRightThisTime: After Abigail uses [[BlandNameProduct off-brand Pepto Bismol]] to cure their upset stomachs, the two of them explode and revert back to being babies. The bartender in Krud becomes their caretaker.

* WeaksauceWeakness: With their powerset revolving around flatulence and upset stomachs, they're defeated by a Pepto-Bismal BlandNameProduct.

* {{Determinator}}: Frick is a determined man. When fighting [[spoiler:The Head Witch]] he's severely outclassed but keeps getting back up to attack them. After having his guns knocked away he uses a knife, after losing the knife he uses a club, after being thrown into the bathroom he get's back out and hits his attacker with a toilet seat.

* SamusIsAGirl: The Society sect that the heroes run into states that their informant is a man named Nook. In reality, she's a woman named Knook.

* ArcVillain: Of Chapter 10 "Set my Soul on Fire".

* MeaningfulName: He looks like a corpse though Daniel wonders if he's actually dead [[spoiler:he's not. He's just disguised himself to look like a dead body]].

!!Princess Darn the 26th

!Queenies Boys

* NonIndicativeName: Though they're called Boys the gang is comprised of men and women.

A bombastic showwoman in charge of Daggun. Crannie runs the casinos and shows under the watchful eye of the King. When Abigail enters the town she sets about trying to capture her. Crannie's girlfriend, Knook, is secretly a member of the Society of Clocks.

* NobleWomansLaugh: When she first meets Abigail face to face, complete with a gloved hand over her own mouth.

* TheMole: They have agents in both King Dang's group and the Witches. [[spoiler:Frick]] is especially entrenched into the organization to the point they could be considered a MoleInCharge. Knook is a more downplayed example as she's not a part of Dang's group nor the rulership of Daggun but she is a private citizen close to the actual ruler and thus can easily access information.

A scientist based in Daggun and the apparent Girlfriend of the town's leader Crannie. Knook has been researching the world and joined the Society of Clocks.

* TheMole: She's a former agent of King Dang and one of the people in charge of Daggun. Using her high position in the city she's able to pass on a lot of info to the Society of Clocks.

!!Dead Man

* ReverseMole: They have agents in both King Dang's group and the Witches. [[spoiler:Frick]] is especially entrenched into the organization to the point they could be considered a MoleInCharge. Knook is a more downplayed example as she's not a part of Dang's group nor the rulership of Daggun but she is a private citizen close to the actual ruler and thus can easily access information.

* ReverseMole: She's a former agent of King Dang and one of the people in charge of Daggun. Using her high position in the city she's able to pass on a lot of info to the Society of Clocks.

The leader of the Southern Witches who finds Abigail when she gets out of her coffin. It's she who tells Abigail of her quest to end the world and occasionally shows up to give her guidance. The Witch's true agenda remains a mystery for much of the comic as she is in contact and coordinates with King Dang yet also backs Abigail's quest against him.

* AmbiguouslyEvil: The witch plays her cards close to her chest and doesn't reveal her motives until late into the comic. Many of her actions appear sinister and she both helps and hinders King Dang.
* EvilerThanThou: [[spoiler:The Witch is far worse than any other villain in the comic and holds the sentimentality and self-preservation of all of the other characters in contempt. She had reportedly tried to ally with the Tummy Boys, Crannie, and Queenie in her agenda but they all turned her down. When King Dang admits to having regrets over the mining she dismisses him as weak]].
* ImmortalityImmorality: The Witch is a lot older than she appears and something of an unempathetic jerk to everyone. [[spoiler:Her long life has made her grow bored and she schemes to cause the apocalypse because the world has stopped progressing and become stagnant. She believes her need to be entertained ultimately trumps the needs of all other life to continue existing]].
* SuperStrength: Not apparent at first, but she's surprisingly strong. [[spoiler:She, like Abigail, was born from the planet itself. The planet's blood empowers Dang and his men, and as an entity created from the planet she has that empowerment naturally]].
* WalkingSpoiler: She's one of the comic's first characters and the one who's true nature remains a mystery for the longest amount of time. It's not until the finale that the audience learns [[spoiler:that she's the BigBad, an entity born from the planet much like Abigail]].

!The Kingdom

!!King Dang

The king of the country and the central antagonist of the comic. Dang is an eccentric maniac with a grip on the country that's weaker than it first appears but still dangerous to everyone. He is mining a mysterious substance from the ground and is set on stopping Abigail from her quest.

* BewareTheSillyOnes: King Dang is a wacky character who's done serious damage to the world. It's best emphasized in his conversation with Princess Darn where the tone flips from goofy to serious [[spoiler:and she breaks her hand punching him, displaying how powerful he is]].
* BigBad: The main antagonist in the strip, at least at first. As the story goes on, more and more parties become major players fighting for the role of the lead villain. Still, it is through his hand that much of the common people are suffering and he empowers numerous villains in the series.
* FauxAffablyEvil: King Darn is a whimsical and strange old man as well as a violent mood swinger and tyrant. He'll rattle off about his eccentricities in the same quirky tone he'll describe an especially painful torture method or death threat.
* OOCIsSeriousBusiness: When [[spoiler:Abigail's mission goes public]], King Dang refuses to comment on the situation to the press. One news anchor noting that it's out of character for the usually flamboyant King.
* VillainWithGoodPublicity: He tries to cultivate this image for himself in part because he's an AttentionWhore. It seems to have been effective in the past but in the present, his popularity with the people has waned especially in the southern towns.

The King's Right Hand Man (on account of him having two right hands). Frick oversees the affairs of the Kingdom and tries his best to steer Dang's evil schemes on track even if he's denied the whole picture.

* RefusalOfTheCall: [[spoiler:While Queenie and the others have their cry-fest, Teenie listens to Frick's story of how Abigail came to be. Afterward, when Daniel, Mattie, and Frick all volunteer to help Abigail, a nervous Teenie refuses. Frick tells him it's ok and that he can watch over Queenie and the others]].
* TheQuietOne: He doesn't speak as much as Eenie or Meanie, preferring to loom over others silently.

-->[[spoiler:'''The Witch''']]]: "You're just as persistent in your stubbornness as the King can be, you know!"

* SuperStrength: Her mysterious strength allows her to rival the serum enhanced minions of the King.

A young Druid in training from the town of Krud. After a lot of disrespect from his order he leaves to travel with Abigail, wanting to set her on a better path.

* EmpoweredBadassNormal: King Darn notes that she's the only Sheriff to have refused the blood that makes the other so powerful and has managed to rule her own city in spite of that. When fighting Abigail, Queenie states that she does take a little bit of the serum granting her strength and durability but she also shares it with her minions empowering them as well.

* HairTodayGoneTomorrow: A flashback shows a younger Frick had a full head of luscious hair during the early days of his employ under Dang. In the present all that's left of it is a small tuft he keeps under his hat.
