* GoodScarsEvilScars: One on his face, which he got when his powers manifested. [[spoiler: Now his face may be permanently scarred, thanks to Jeremy Briggs.]]

* PimpingTheOffspring: Downplayed, Striker was molested by an Hollywood agent helping him get acting roles, and when he told his mother about the abuse, she claimed he was lying. It wasn't until Striker accidentally killed the man while defending himself from his advances with his manifesting powers that his mom apologized and realized he was telling the truth.

* PimpingTheOffspring: Striker's mother allowed him to be molested by older men in exchange for acting roles.

* HiddenDepths: She comes off as cold and emotionless, but she displays a strong attachment to Quicksilver who she sees as a mentor, even angrily attacking Magneto of all people for berating Quicksilver for his failures. In #4, she's first seen begging the others to keep looking for the missing Juston after they spent a day hunting and looking for clues to where his Sentinel crashed. She still feels guilty about them both and blames herself for getting Mettle killed.
* HairTriggerTemper: She's always been quick to anger. And now, [[spoiler: with Mettle dead]], it's gotten worse with her ready to attack anyone outside the other Academy students. Including people she has met before like the Runaways.

* HeroicBSOD: In issue #11, she loses it badly and just wants to enjoy the time she has left on the island in denial. In actuality, she is still grieving over Mettle, and wanted to just not think about him or Murderworld anymore. * IAmNotAGun: In a moment of desperation Finesse uses Laura's claws to kill [[spoiler: Jeremy Briggs]] while she was unconscious, allowing Laura to believe ''she'' did it herself before passing out. When Finesse later reveals the truth Laura is deeply upset at being used in such a manner, and it destroys the friendship they'd built.

* MrFixIt: He was already mechanically gifted, but watching the Sentinel repair itself and listening and fixing it really increased his skill level.
