* PoorPredictableRock: Subverted. He's supposed to be a Rock-type Gym Leader, but only one member out of his current team even qualifies. [[LampshadeHanging This has not gone without notice]]. During the ''Jirachi: Wish Maker'' arc, he even says his type specialty is "being misleading", [[spoiler:due to having more Pokémon who use illusions than Rock-types]].

* EarlyBirdCameo: Shows up and gets her future memories early in the Battle Frontier saga.

The protagonists of [[VideoGame/PokemonColosseum]], a former criminal turned vigilante and a girl capable of seeing aura. They hunt the corrupted Shadow Pokémon in an attempt to capture and purify them.

* HeroOfAnotherStory: Have fought Cipher many times before, and Rui mentions the protagonist of "Gale of Darkness" at one point.

* Kanto Badges: Marsh Badge (203), Heart Badge (206), Rainbow Badge (209), Soul Badge (210), Yin and Yang Badge (212), Cascade Badge (221), Boulder Badge (224), Volcano Badge (240).

* AcquiredPoisonImmunity: With so many of his team utilising illusions, he's gotten really used to subconsciously navigating around them, such that a wild group of Stantler using illusions on him, he doesn't even notice.

* NitroBoost: As typical of his evolutionary line, he can channel his electricity into his muscles for a burst of speed, commonly used for [[RammingAlwaysWorks ramming]].

* BulletHell: Can create the minefield version using Future Sight.

* OddNameOut: The only one of Max's Pokémon without a nickname. This is lampshaded a few times, and a few suggestion have been floated by, but nothing's stuck so far.

* OnlySaneMan: His Prinlup seems to feel like this.

* DiscardAndDraw: Ash convinves a ChallengeSeeker Craniados to join his team in place of Chimchar/Infernape.

* TookALevelInBadass: Displays a more varied move pool in Max's Kanto League, including using his teleportatoon

* CurbStombBattle: Dawn beats her pretty easily in a Contest battle, though Zoey hadn't been reminded at the time.

* IncendiaryExponent: Knows Flare Blitz.

One of Ash's future traveling companions from the Unova region, and one of the three Striaton City Gym Leaders. Hasn't met with Ash yet; he first appears during the Hoenn League, at which point he and his brothers are starting up their gym.

* CannotKeepASecret: Blurts out that Iris has posters immediately.

** Their Pokémon get in on this, too. Besides Meowth, those that were already in the roster evolve and get new moves, while newcomers include [[spoiler:an Audino who is a SupremeChef, a cosplaying Pikachu, and a freakin' '''''Moltres''''']].

* BecauseYouWereNiceToMe: Is ''very'' grateful towards Misty for her kindness to a ''[[FishOutOfTemporalWater time-displaced fossil]] as him. This pushes him to fight really hard for her, and it shows.

** TeethClenchedTeamwork: Didn't really like Iris or her other Pokémon, prior to being reminded.
* UnderestimatingBadassery: Even after being reminded and becoming aware of the changed timeline, he's completely unimpressed by Ash and Pikachu, even repeating Iris' "such a kid" line.

* CallingTheOldManOut: Downplayed; via a note to Paul, although he apologizes for losing to Cynthia, he does call Paul out for getting mad at him for losing to the strongest Pokémon of the strongest trainer in Sinnoh, with both a type and level advantage.

* WillTheyOrWontThey: With Pikachu. Pikachu admits that he'd had a bad first impression with her, and is willing to start over from the beginning to see if there is anything between them.

* HeroicBSOD: She has... difficulty reconciling the [[IdiotHero Ash]] she remembers with the [[TheAce Ash Ketchum]] that she's heard so much about. In particular, she's astonished to learn that he was a WeirdnessMagnet ''long'' before coming to Unova.

One of Ash's future traveling companions from the Unova region, and an aspiring Dragon Master. Initially shown during her time at the Opelucid Academy, before she decides to drop out. Hasn't met up with Ash yet, though she's well-aware of the world-famous trainer.

* FanGirl: Iris appears to have a case of this towards Ash. She has a poster of of him next to her other idols [[WorldsStrongestMan Lance and Cynthia]], and believes he would never have obedience issues with his Pokémon. ''Very'' ironic, considering her [[VitriolicBestBuds attitude]] towards him in canon.

* BrilliantButLazy: As Iris hasn't met up with Ash yet, Excadrill hasn't grown out of this phase.
* TeethClenchedTeamwork: Doesn't really like Iris or her other Pokémon at the moment.

* AdaptationalBadass: Both of them come loaded with full teams of 6 this time round. Not that it helps them in the end.

A trainer Ash met in the Kanto League with Pokémon very similar to Ash's own. And not by coincidence either. He has lately been informed of Ash's time-travel mission.

The protagonists of Pokemon Colosseum.

* VillainWithGoodPublicity: On top of being one of Team Rocket's best teams, most of the PR work Team Rocket has been doing since the time travel mainly involves them. It started when they participated in the Kanto Gym Challenge and placed third at the Indigo League, and spearheaded from there. Since then they are visibly seen at many of Ash's world-saving trials (which is often covered by the news) and have participated at many other well-covered events such as the Pokéathlon. Because of this and their new executive status, they enjoy a great amount of freedom that most other Rocket teams lack, which they use to pursue non-criminal pursuits (in fact, Jesse, James, and co. haven't committed or even tried to commit an actual crime since the end of Kanto). Their lack of crime has become so prevalent in the later chapters that really the only thing that makes them "villains" is the fact that they're members of a criminal organization, and even then one that has proven to be the most relatively benign in the narrative.

* LovableAlphaBitch: Is still domineering towards the other members of her cell (especially when it comes to contests), but is still loyal to her team nonetheless.

* ButtMonkey: In the Kanto chapters, they took the place of the TRio as the Rockets who would tried to interfere with the heroes only to get horribly humiliated by them in some way (usually unwittingly, and due to both Ash and Co. ''and'' the TRio). Even when they get stronger Pokémon to face off against Ash during the Lake of Rage incident, they are still soundly beaten, much to their shock.

* TheResenter: It's subtle, especially since they don't appear very often, but it seems and Butch and Cassidy are slightly resentful of how the [=TRio=] are executives (on the lowest rung, but still), while they're still (technically) only high-level grunts. They have access to strong Pokémon and control over many low-level operations, but they don't have the freedom and trust Jesse, James, and co. all enjoy.

** The third Sinnoh chapter also brings this up, as he's looking through a =TM= catalogue to decide what moves he should try and learn to vary his movepool.

* FightOffTheKryptonite: Swellow is highly resistant to Electric-Type moves, as in canon.

* AchievementsInIgnorance: The reason her Eevee can switch forms on the drop of a hat is because Molly misunderstood how Eevee's branching evolution worked in the first place.

* BadPowersGoodPeople: After being un-Shadowed, she still has Shadow Blast.

** TheBigGuy: Easily Dawn's biggest Pokémon.
* IntelligibleUnintelligible: Unlike the rest of the group Pokémon, he's never seen directly speaking. Instead, the narration has him grunting something, and then someone else responds to him.

* CoolPlane: Has used several in place of their old Meowth balloon, but they seem to have settled on a modified [[https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lockheed_C-130_Hercules C-130 Machamp]] tiltrotor.

* SapientHouse[=/=]SmartHouse: Thanks to Oak's Porygon Damos connecting with the ranch's computer system, the Oak Ranch itself can be considered as such. Poké-speech even appears on screens in the building!

** IgnorantOfTheCall: Ash was initially unable to remind her, despite Zoey being more than qualified. It took the aid of the Lake Guardians and Jirachi to get it right.

* GrumpyBear: Compared to the rest of Dawn's cute and cuddly team, he's definitely a lot gruffer than them.

* SitcomArchNemesis: Argues with Piplup about the most inane topics, everything from architecture to topiary. [[VitriolicBestBuds Buneary posits that they both enjoy it]].

* ChainOfDeals: Gary found himself in one trying to teach Alakazam Teleport. [[labelnote:The full chain]]Gary needs to borrow Oak's Dragonite because there's a man in Geosenge who will give a fossil to someone who shows him a fully-evolved Dragon-type. From the fossil he'll get an Anorinth that can be traded for a Liepard, that traded for a Swoobat, that for a Clefairy, and that for a Gyarados, who can be shown to Marie in Camphrier for a letter. The letter is to be given to Jacques who will give him a Farfetch'd that can be traded for a Beartic and then that for a shiny Furfrou. Furfrou is then to get a haircut and be shown to Gym Leader Valerie to get a Focus Sash that can be traded for a Silk Sash. That is to be given to a girl in Luminose for a Pokémon that can dance, and after showing a dancing Pokémon to a certain guy he will get the Heart Scale he needs to give to the Move Relearner as payment for him having Alakazam re-learn Teleport.[[/labelnote]] [[spoiler:Prof. Oak manages to derail the Chain by telling Gary that Misty has a Gyarados she would most likely let him borrow, Oak knows someone with a Clefairy and both Silk and Focus Sashes, Ash's Totodile can dance, Oak has about twenty Heart Scales just lying around the lab, and when Muk ate the [=TMs=] like cookies he didn't eat the Teleport [=TM=]. Gary is understandably pissed, but winds up accepting the TM and borrowing Dragonite and Gyarados, allowing him to complete at least part of the chain and get an Anorith and a Furfrou out of it]].

* HowDoIShotWeb: [[spoiler:After he evolves into Pupitar, he finds movement a problem as a limbless rock that moves via jet propulsion. Gets even worse after his second evolution into Tyranitar, as he finds his new body so unwieldy that he can't even walk without overbalancing. See RequiredSecondaryPowers below.]]

* MightyGlacier: With his high defense and low speed, he didn't exactly mesh well with Ash's usual high-speed strategies, but luckily, Ash has had several years to work out something that will. Now, even if he himself moves slow, he can use ''attacks'' that don't.

* DishingOutDirt: Is this, despite not looking like one.

One of Ash's (future) traveling companions, an extremely talented coordinator and the daughter of Petalburg's Gym Leader, Norman. Appeared towards the end of the Orange Islands arc while on vacation and witnessed Ash's battle with the Orange Crew Leader Drake, alongside her little brother Max. Seeing them, Ash decided to preemptively restore their memories, and now are Ash's current companions for his Hoenn League Challenge.

* Hoenn Ribbons: Slateport City (126), Verdenturf City (142), Rubello Town (149), Mossdeep City (167), Pacifidlog Town (176). Hoenn Grand Festival Top Coordinator.

* SapientSteed: After evolving, he wants to be this for May.

Yet another of Ash's (future) traveling companions, an extremely talented coordinator from the Sinnoh region (and the daughter of Johanna, herself a past Top Coordinator), who met up with Ash at the Hoenn Grand Festival and had her memories restored.
