* UnwittingInstigatorOfDoom: [[spoiler:Her killing Michiyo would ultimately lead to Ranko getting arrested and Nagi ruling all of Akiba's maid cafes.]] Happens again when [[spoiler:she kills Nagi's Assassin, Suehiro, when she thought he was getting close to Ranko to assassinate her. However not only were his feelings sincere but it would have averted Ranko's later fate.]]

* TheBadGuyWins: [[PyrrhicVictory To an extent]]. [[spoiler:Though the series ends with Nagi dying and her empire being destroyed, in the end she got what she wanted: She utterly defeated and humiliated Ranko, and decisively proved that her ideals were stronger than Ranko and Michiyo's by virtue of having outlasted both. Unfortunately for her, she and her ideals do not last without an active force to counter its inherent instability, all but disapearing and being forgotten while Ranko and Michiyo's ideals last moving forward, long after their deaths.]]

* YouHaveOutlivedYourUsefulness: [[spoiler:After ordering Okachimachi to kill her former boss, she also orders the maid's death via hitman. Only for the attempt to fail when a passing cop notices it happening; allowing the maid to escape and to eventually become Okachimachi in order to hide from Nagi.]] [[spoiler: She also briefly disowns Ton Tokoton and sends the rest of Creatureland out to kill them and her own cafe until Ranko and Nagomi convince her think otherwise until Ranko is assassinated. After this she reinstates the kill order and goes to the cafe directly to deal with it herself.]]

* YouHaveOutlivedYourUsefulness: Ugaki bluntly informs Manami that her plan to destroy Creatureland is off the table by announcing the merger of both rival maid organizations. When Manami goes to both refute this and mock Ugaki for caving in and trying to stand up to her [[spoiler:she is promptly shot to death by the very manager she abused and tormented.]] [[spoiler:Unfortunately also a subversion, as without her in the way Nagi hands over a very disadvantageous contract that can't be turned down.]]

* BrokenBird: Underneath her stoicism and badass feats it is implied that she seems to suffer from SurvivorsGuilt: she has openly stated that she's distrustful of people, does not care for her life as long as she can serve her cafe, and [[spoiler: had given up at hapiness when she signed into the maid life.]] This comes to a head in Episode 10 after the reveal that [[spoiler: Nagi]] was the one who got her beloved mentor killed, causing Ranko to let out an expression of both rage and betrayal.

* SurprisinglyRealisticOutcome: She forcibly recruits a maid off the streets who already had bad blood with her, said maid witness her shoot multiple of her own officers, along with an innocent civilian who's only crime was that he pissed her off, [[spoiler: yet is still surprised when the maid puts a bullet in her the moment she lets her guard down because.]]

* DeathGlare: She sports these when she's especially angry, like after she kills the [[spoiler: Dept Collector]] for failing her.

* PsychoPink: Despite her pink hair, she's a revenge-driven, ruthless individual not caring for her wellbeing if she can get her revenge. After becoming an axolotl maid, her new uniform adds more pink to her design.

* BigBadEnsemble: She and Nagi. While [[BigBad Nagi]] and the Creatureland Group serve as the main antagonists who are the main enemies of Nagomi and the Ton Tokoton workers, the maid, despite having little screentime, presents more as a personal threat against Nagomi and Ranko, as such when she [[BackStab murders the latter]] for destroying her café and murdering all of her co-workers back in Episode 1.

* BigBad: [[spoiler:With Maidalien being absorbed by Creatureland, her increased annoyance with the Ton Tokoton, the Omoe Festival being the last straw, and the revelation that she was the one who hired Okachimachi to kill her and Ranko's mentor and set Ranko up with the fall, Nagi ends up the main antagonist and final boss of the anime. Which is cemented when she orders a hit out on the cafe in revenge.]]

* BigBadWannabe: [[spoiler: For all her bluster, her attempt to destroy Ton Tokoton fails miserably and she's unceremoniously gunned down by Maidalien's senior leadership.]]

** Being someone who only wanted to work as a maid, her goal is to try to not get anyone killed and lacks any combat capabilities. Unfortunately for her, she gets brutally reminded regularly that the Akiba maid district doesn't play nice with one another. Her lack of fighting skill and naivety nearly gets her killed several times thanks to Ton Tokoton's penchant for getting into fights with the rival cafes and their bosses at Creatureland. Both Yumechi and Manami call her out on her inability to fight back in Episode 6, as it lead directly to her best friend [[spoiler:Nerula]] getting killed trying to protect her, and nearly gets herself killed when she rushes into to try and help. She goes from this to a TechnicalPacifist after she joins a {{ninja}}-themed cafe and gets inspired by General's words to change, allowing her to pull a BigDamnHeroes moment against Manami when she and her squad have Ton Tokoton outnumbered and outgunned.

* DefiantToTheEnd: [[spoiler:When confronted by Manami for betraying Maidalien, Nerula decides to take responsibility for her actions and challenges Manami to a duel. She refuses to ask help from Nagomi or Ranko and continues to fight until she's bleeding to death from multiple gunshot wounds and dies in Nagomi's [[DidedInYourArmsTonight arms]].]]

* PandaingToTheAudience: The likely main reason why they are in the café is due the universal appeal of pandas. What's more jarring is that Ton Tokoton is a pig-themed maid café, so a pig suit would have been more fitting. [[spoiler:It's later revealed she started to don the GoofySuit in an attempt to hide from being killed, and Yasuko found and hired her when opening Ton Tokoton.]]

* BookEnds: [[spoiler:Ranko's story begins and ends with a young maid witnessing her mentor being murdered by an assassin on Nagi's orders.]]

* KansaiRegionalAccent: She noticeably uses ''ya'' instead of ''da'' as a copula when screaming at Nagomi.

* ContraltoOfDanger: Creator/RinaSato employs a really deep, low voice for her, which serves to show Ranko as a strong ActionGirl. Comically, Ranko seems incapable of making her voice go any higher when saying cutesy maid things; she also maintains this deep tone while singing the ending theme for episode 5.

* ContraltoOfDanger: Next to Ranko, she's the female character with the deepest voice so far, and she's certainly a dangerous woman who doesn't fear killing subordinates if they betray or fail Creatureland.

* JustGotOutOfJail: In Episode 5, we discover that Ranko did time, and had just gotten out shortly before landing the maid job at Ton Tokoton. [[spoiler:It's later revealed in Episode 10 that Nagi was the reason why she was sent to jail in the first place.]]

* BadassBaritone: He has a deep, stoic voice courtesy of Creator/JunichiSuwabe. It serves to further show him as a ruthless hitman.

* TraumaticHaircut: She's forced to cut off one of her pigtails in a manner similar to {{Yubitsume}}, and when she can't go through with it the manager cuts it off herself, leaving her a sobbing wreck.

A maid café in Akihabara known for its many debts due to the incompetence of the Manager.

* [[MadeOfIron Maid of Iron]]: [[spoiler:She tanks ''six'' revolver gunshots to the abdomen from Nagi in Episode 12 and ''survives,'' albeit becoming crippled in the process.]]

The sadistic manager from a moon rabbit-themed café known as Wuv-Wuv Moonbeam. Yasuko sends Nagomi and Ranko to her caf&eacute to deliver her a letter, with unexpected results.
