After Ruby protects Blake from Iya and apologises, Blake forgives her and the two resume as close friends]].

* ElementalEyeColour: ElementalEyeColours: She's the fourth person in the story to have silver eyes, having got them from her mother Summer Rose. Silver eyes are capable of summoning bright light that burns any Grimm that's too close.

* NamedWeapons: The source of the weapon names in ''AZRE''. Ruby's habit of naming the weapons of her fellow Huntsmen is seen as strange, but she doesn't care and affectionately named her own scyth "Crescent Rose".

* {{Otaku}}: The [[{{GunNut}} Gun Nut]] variety. Ruby loves weapons and constructing them, obsessing over them with numerous notebooks filled with ideas and schematics of weapons belonging to students and famous Huntsmen alike. This is why Ruri accepted Ruby's help with her own weapon modifications, as she trusts Ruby's knowledge more than her own.

* TearsOfRemorse: Her reunion with [[spoiler: Blake ends with Ruby expressing her guilt through tears, apologising for hurting her friend and admits that she just wanted their team to be friends like her mother's was. Blake forgives her through a [[{{CooldownHug}} Cooldown Hug]]]].
* TranquilFury: Despite trying to voice her feelings over Blake not joining their team in the Vytal Tournament, Ruby's frustrations grow when [[spoiler: Penny is introduced, silently refuting her attempts to introduce herself and leaving the office alone]].

** Further shown in that, despite her explicit beliefs in the superiority of Atlas, Weiss does want to learn about the other kingdoms of Remnant, especially in places like Menagerie. It's such a turn from her [[{{FantasticRacism}} usual self]] that Yang doesn't believe it at first.

* CutenessProximity: Her standoffish attitude quickly vanishes when she's around Ruby's service dog; Zwei, devolving into baby talk when talking to or about him.

* HeroesLoveDogs: Absolutely adores dogs, especially Zwei.

* JerkassHasAPoint: While none of her group likes the idea, and Weiss did it specifically because she still thinks Blake is with the White Fang, calling the police is something that only helps, given that Eirian and her team specifically got into trouble last time because they worked with a known criminal, brought weapons into the city, and then endangered themselves by engaging with Iya and Banesaw. Late on, Eirian herself tells Ren to go and get whoever they can for backup, even sending one of her birds to Ozpin himself for help.

** Her attitude towards Ruby is poor, Weiss has a point in getting angry that Ruby is not taking her studying or assignments seriously, especially with Ruby being the leader. While Yang is quick to defend her little sister, even Ruby acknowledges that she hasn't been putting in the effort and asks Weiss to tutor her.

* BizarreHumanBiology: As a Faunus, she has two cat ears on top of her head, slit pupils and sharp canines. It's also hinted that she has retractable claws, though she hasn't been shown using them yet.

As with other Faunus, Blake's cat ears mean that she has retractable claws, doesn't have human ears like other Faunus (Sun, Adam, etc), though she hasn't been shown using them yet.styles her hair to cover it.

* TheInsomniac: Her obsession with chasing down Torchwick and helping the White Fang has left Blake exhausted, unable to sleep with her decaying mental state. Even though others have noticed her growing instability, Blake refuses to listen to reason.

* SecretlyWealthy: She's the daughter of the Chieftan, the leader of Asíle in Menagerie, and as such lived in luxury before running away to the White Fang. No one outside of Adam and his team knows this, not even Blake's own team.

* OnlyFriend: Eirian admits that, even after spending over two years in Beacon already, Yang is one of the few people who willingly hang out with her and Team AZRE. Downplayed, since both Ruby and Sun enjoy hanging out with at least Ruri and Eirian too.
* ParentalSubstitute: She very much acts this way to Ruby, constantly looking out for her and worrying about going to Beacon because it would mean leaving Ruby behind in a school where she doesn't have that many friends of her own.

Removing trope misuse; this trope is only for situations where there appears to be nothing holding the weapon to the back, but it's held there regardless. if you know it's magnets, it's not the trope.

* TheQuietOne: Would very much let Yang do the talking if her sister would let her, Ruby doesn't go out of her way to talk to people.

* NotGoodWithPeople: The exact opposite of Ruby. While Ruby is shy and unable to read social cues when in conversation, Weiss is haughty and treats everyone around her like they are lesser, especially in regards to class. This immediately puts anyone off from interacting with her.

* BlowYouAway: She can used her Semblance to create small wind tornados that're strong enough to blow people away.

* CustomUniform: She wears her cape over her Beacon uniform.
* DarkIsNotEvil: Ruby's colour scheme is mostly black and harsh reds, similar to Adam's, but she is a sweet, kindhearted young girl who wants to help protect the public and her friends.

* ElementalEyeColour: She's the fourth person in the story to have silver eyes, having got them from her mother Summer Rose. Silver eyes are capable of summoning bright light that burns any Grimm that's too close.

* GlowingEyes: Her silver eyes glow when about to be used, and also glow in the dark similar to Faunus night vision.

* MissingMom: Like Yang, Ruby lost her mother, Summer Rose, when she was a child, and still misses her years later.

* MissingMom: Like Yang, Ruby lost her mother, Summer Rose, when she was a child, and still misses her years later. Her talk with Zanthus in ''Help from Unexpected Places'' goes deeper into this: she misses what Summer could've been, as she didn't know her, rather than missing Summer as her mother like Yang does.

** She later is broken further regarding her attitude towards Sun and Blake. After the events at the docks with the White Fang, she learns to admit that she was wrong about Blake and promises to do better.
* CannotTakeCriticism: The default reaction to any criticism, whether actual or percieved, is Weiss losing her temper and insulting whoever criticised her. Gylnda and Yang are quick to shut it down and push Weiss to learn how to accept that she isn't perfect.

* InelegentBlubbering: The argument with Yang ends with Weiss bursting out into tears, venting about her frustration and confusion over nothing at Beacon going the way she envisioned, and even letting loose some of her hidden insecurity.

* InferioritySuperiorityComplex: She tends to show an aura of superiority in her skills and lineage, but ''A Much Needed Talk'' shows that she is terrified of finding her place in Beacon if she can't be the best, indirectly praising Ruby, Sun and Blake as better Huntsmen and people than her.

* JustFriends: To Sun. They're good friends and Blake is shown to really only trust him at first, but explicitly says that she sees him as just a friend when accused otherwise by Weiss.

* ScarsAreForever: After her fight with Banesaw and Iya, Blake was left with scars on her back and shoulders, one barely visible from where her bolero jacket cuts off.

* DefrostingIceQueen: After the talk with Glynda, Weiss starts to defrost slightly towards Ruby, accepting to tutor her and humors some of Ruby's more childish requests. Near the end of Volume 3, she finally starts to be more cordial towards Blake, listening to Blake's orders after rescuing her, and even gives her a hankerchief to help with her busted nose.

* KnightInSourArmor: She's the most experienced in her team by the time they enrol into Beacon, having lived on the road for years prior and still lived in an impoverised kingdom beforehand. She still believes in fighting for her people, but had left the White Fang for going into violence that was too much for her. Without anything else, she decides to go Beacon to try and find her own path through being a Huntress.

* SayingTooMuch: In her argument with Weiss over the White Fang, Weiss' comments finally push Blake to out herself as an ex-member of the White Fang. Her outburst reinforces Weiss' distrust of her, but she runs from the conversation rather than Blake.

* ShellShockedVeteran: Her time in the White Fang, witnessing the deaths of her people and friends, on top of having to fight just to survive, had left Blake a nervous and distrustful woman struggling with PTSD. Add onto her near death experience with Banesaw and Iya, and just the appearance of them is enough to send Blake into an anxiety attack.
