* AdaptationalNiceGuy: While we don't have an in-depth perspective of Viserys's adulthood, the books show that he was a neglectful parent due to his duties as Hand of the King. Here, Viserys is shown to care for his children and his brother's children as well (except Baelor), and makes a genuine effort to raise his son Aegon to be a better man and ruler despite the latter's vices. This more hands-on upbringing as the added benefit of making Aegon a much nicer person compared to his book counterpart.

The difference is that Aegon has benefits that Tyrion doesn't, such as being a martial and handsome man, as well as a father who genuinely cares for him despite his flaws.
