** Speaking of gag reels, both Ragna and Makoto get the short end of the stick more often than not in them. While Makoto was unambiguously safe in Lambda's CS gag reel (if you could call it that) and Bang and Tager's CP gag reels (with Carl's CS gag reel as a 'maybe'), her endurance and sanity have been pushed to their breaking point on numerous occasions, with ''her tail'' as a casualty in one such instance. As for Ragna, name a gag reel where he ''isn't'' beaten up, scared off with a ghost joke, or outright humiliated. For bonus points, Carl's CS gag reel notwithstanding, ''both'' of them get to [[UnwantedHarem drown in two separate orgies of violence]], [[WTHCastingAgency deal with a casting debacle]], [[FreakyFridayFlip swap bodies with Jin and each other]], job to Platinum's MagicalGirl squad, and [[LethalChef sample Noel's cooking]].

* ''VideoGame/RandalsMonday'': Murray and Charlie do not get a break.

* Allen and Miyuki from ''VideoGame/{{Xenosaga}}''. Miyuki, in particular, is a rare female example that's actually PlayedForLaughs.

* ''VideoGame/BlazBlue'':

** Poor Luigi. When the man in green isn't getting forgotten and overlooked in favor of Mario by both allies and enemies alike or tortured by his crippling fear of everything (especially ghosts), he's the target of most of the physical and verbal abuse that happens throughout the franchise. This is at it's peak in the ''VideoGame/MarioAndLuigi'' games, where no one outside Mario seems to respect him at all, with even allies regularly mocking him to his face. Luigi's original Final Smash in the ''VideoGame/SuperSmashBros'' series plays with the character's status as this, with his [[LimitBreak Negative Zone]] attack stated to be the manifestation of the dark side he embraced from being in his brother's shadow.
*** In ''VideoGame/SuperMarioGalaxy'', Luigi even plays second banana [[spoiler:to ''himself.'']]
*** The Advertising/TheYearOfLuigi advertising campaign reversed this somewhat, with ''VideoGame/NewSuperLuigiU'', ''[[VideoGame/SuperMario3DWorld Luigi Bros.]]'' and ''Dr. Luigi'' being basically ''VideoGame/NewSuperMarioBrosU'', ''VideoGame/MarioBros'' and ''[[VideoGame/DrMario Dr. Mario Online Rx]]'' respectively with little to no acknowledgement of Mario and a greater emphasis on Luigi, even having the ''implication'' of Mario, the word "Bros.", crossed out in green paint on Luigi U's title. Other games in the celebration, ''VideoGame/LuigisMansionDarkMoon'' and ''VideoGame/MarioAndLuigiDreamTeam'', don't remove Mario any more than their predecessors but give Luigi particular love by [[spoiler: having him more or less overcome his [[WhyDidItHaveToBeSnakes fear of ghosts]] and having [[BigBad Bowser]] remember his name for once]].

*** Despite being a regular in the Mario spin-offs, Waluigi hasn't appeared in any other games. No Mario appearance, not in ''VideoGame/WarioLand'', not even claiming a microgame collection in ''VideoGame/WarioWare''.

** The ''VideoGame/SuperRobotWarsZ'' series has Hibiki Kamishiro. He's effectively a scapegoat for [[LightNovel/FullMetalPanic Sôsuke Sagara]] ([[LightNovel/FullMetalPanic Kaname Chidori]] chews Hibiki out) and [[Anime/MacrossFrontier Alto Saotome]]. In the "Sayonara, Idol" DownloadableContent for ''Jigoku-hen'', [[Anime/DancougarNova Johnny Barnett]] plays from a clip from a movie starring [[Anime/DancougarNova Eida Rossa]], in hopes of having Hibiki understand her charm as a IdolSinger. It winds up with him mentally broken with DullEyesOfUnhappiness saying "Chu! Chu! Chu! Chu!"[[note]]The Japanese equivalent of a kissing sound[[/note]] [[MadnessMantra again and again]].

* ''VideoGame/DragaliaLost'': If anyone at the Halidom is going to be on the receiving end of torment, then chances are, that it’s going to be either [[TheBigGuy Ranzal]] or [[ThePrankster Luca]]. Since they act as most of muscle for the main gang, it’s not all that surprising. Although Ranzal is more likely, Luca is especially vulnerable if [[CloudcuckoolandersMinder Sarisse]] is around.

* ''Videogame/SuperMarioBros'':

** And of course, Princess Peach, who thanks to her role as the DistressedDamsel is always at the mercy of Bowser or some other [[MonsterOfTheWeek Villain of the week.]] Except, of course, when your ActionGirl tendencies kick in.

* ''VisualNovel/LittleBusters'' has three: [[GenkiGirl genki]], trouble-making Haruka takes the brunt of the snarky ripostes and MyFriendsAndZoidberg-type comments, CuteClumsyGirl Komari gets [[SlapstickKnowsNoGender most of the physical humour]], and [[DumbMuscle Masato]] gets them both and anything else left over.

*** Athena Cykes, by [[SlapstickKnowsNoGender female protagonist's standard]], is prone to AmusingInjuries such as getting hit with a ballistic volleyball and falling down some stairs. She's also notable for having one of the widest ranges of cartoony expressions PlayedForLaughs. Like other main characters, she is not immune to a prosecutor's verbal and nonverbal assaults, the judge's swaying remarks, and witnesses' weird antics. [[spoiler:Though she is evidently more emotionally fragile than other characters, to the point she invokes multiple HeroicBSOD, she is rather quick at bouncing back from all the damages she receives]]. She also becomes [[spoiler:Trucy's new training dummy]] after [[spoiler:Apollo moves to Khura'in]] at the end of ''[[VisualNovel/PhoenixWrightAceAttorneySpiritOfJustice Spirit of Justice]]''.

** Poor Luigi. * ''VideoGame/JaggedAlliance'': "Elliot, you IDIOT!" ''[[ArmorPiercingSlap Smack-smack!]]'' To explain: Elliot is the oft-put-upon advisor to [[GodSaveUsFromTheQueen Queen Deidrianna]] of [[BananaRepublic Arulco]], whose unique combination of UndyingLoyalty, unfortunate position as the bearer of all direct reports to the mentally-unstable queen, inability to parse his words correctly, and [[{{Determinator}} sheer durability]] result in him getting berated and slapped every time he reports on the progress of the war with your band of mercenaries. Even when Deidrianna's troops manage to retake a city, he still gets smacked around and yelled at for being an idiot. As the game progresses he gets more and more bloodied by the queen's beatings, until she finally opts to just shoot him in the head. [[MadeOfIron He survives and keeps on faithfully serving his queen right up until you storm the place itself.]]

* In ''VideoGame/EtrianOdyssey 2 Untold'', we have marksman Flavio who is constantly made the butt of many, many jokes through the game by almost the entire cast, be they seniors, children, and many times indirectly from Arianna. This is probably retribution for all those years as a kid when he used to be an annoying CryingWolf to the Midgard Library.

*** Phoenix's ancestor, Ryunosuke Naruhodo, gets it just as bad. First, he gets framed for murder, and is forced to essentially fire his lawyer and [[AFoolForAClient represent himself]] despite knowing jack shit about being a lawyer (his actual lawyer is his best friend who is supposed to go to England to study their legal system, and if he represents Ryu and loses then he won't be allowed to go, thus Ryu decides to take the bullet for him). Then, in order to join his best friend on said trip, he has to stow away in his friend's luggage and then inside of the wardrobe in his room, living off whatever scraps his friend is able to sneak him (and due to the time period, this trip takes many months). Then, [[spoiler:his best friend gets murdered and he gets framed ''again'']]. Then, he has to take over his best friend's position as the lawyer being sent to England. Again, he's not actually a lawyer, so this means spending the entire rest of the trip relentlessly cramming law books so that he at least has some idea of what he's doing. His reward after all of that is to be a Japanese lawyer in Victorian England for two games, where [[DeliberateValuesDissonance almost everyone is racist to him]], most notably his rival prosecutor, who has a burning hatred of the Japanese specifically. At the very least, unlike Phoenix, his prosecutor doesn't physically assault him and is content with sticking to verbal abuse. His ''assistant'', on the other hand, enjoys judo-flipping him on a regular basis.

*** Gumshoe's love interest, Maggey Byrde (introduced in ''Justice for All''), has a perpetual streak of bad luck, which culminated in her being accused of murder on ''three'' separate occasions. Byrde lampshades this a lot too, and considering [[MeaningfulName her name]] [[PunnyName is a pun on the magpie bird,]] believed to bring bad luck, she's practically the female version of Larry. When she was six months old, she apparently fell off the balcony of her ''9th floor'' apartment...

*** [[VisualNovel/ApolloJusticeAceAttorney Apollo Justice]] somehow manages to get even less respect than Phoenix ever did. Every character seems to go out of their way to mock him in some manner whenever possible. Even you, the player, can essentially mock him: present the Fish to him when you get the chance in the DLC case of ''[[VisualNovel/PhoenixWrightAceAttorneyDualDestinies Dual Destinies]]''. At one point, someone ''throws a grown man at him''. Accidentally, but still.

** Bowser's been kicked around as well, which can be seen throughout the Mario [=RPGs=]. ''VideoGame/SuperMarioRPG'' has his castle and a chunk of his minions being taken by the Smithy Gang, which leads to him joining forces with Mario. ''VideoGame/PaperMarioTheThousandYearDoor'' had Bowser spend most of his screen time lagging behind Mario's party, where among other things, he goes through an entire level only to find a Peach poster in Koops' village, breaks into Rawk Hawk's training where he pummels Rawk Hawk and finds a fake Crystal Star, and when he finally meets Mario in the final part of the game, he and Kammy are promptly beaten. The ''VideoGame/MarioAndLuigi'' series has Bowser get stuck in a cannon and blasted off, get amnesia and become Popple's sidekick, [[spoiler: become [[DemonicPossession possessed by Cackletta]], get blasted into the sky and [[CameraAbuse smash into the screen]] in the process]].

* In ''VideoGame/SpiderManShatteredDimensions'', ComicBook/UltimateSpiderMan gets the worst treatment out of all the Spider-Men. His hazards are Electro (whose powers ''are his weakness''), being fought by a somewhat GenreSavvy nut that just refuses to shut up, and [[spoiler:not just Carnage, but Slayer robots designed to destroy parasitic organisms...which includes the suit that Ultimate Spidey is wearing]]. [[KickTheDog Then he has to outrun tsunamis and collapsing heli-carriers.]] And [[spoiler: Mysterio]] [[JerkAss disses him on]] [[BerserkButton his height]].

** ''VideoGame/DragonAgeOrigins'': Oh, Alistair. Even [[CoolOldLady Wynne]] enjoys teasing the poor guy. Partially because he's a ''statuette'' loving ManChild, but also because he's the only party member you can't kick out until the end of the game, and is often referenced by other characters; it's hard for Leliana to pick on Sten for being a softie when you both left them to die at Lothering. [[VideoGameCrueltyPotential You bastard.]] And [[spoiler: letting Loghain survive and join the Gray Wardens]] is pretty much the pinnacle of Alistair abuse. YouBastard.
