All he wanted to do was to go home after a night of drinking, encountering Vampires, Zombies, bloodthirsty Dogfish, Cavemen, Dinosaurs, Robotic Haystacks, a horde of evil Tediz and a gigantic, opera-singing turd. And more. He's remained almost saintishly calm, up until the last level, where[[spoiler:his girlfriend is brutally murdered by his boss, and her corpse thrown out into space by the xenomorph out of Alien, named Heinrich. He then proceeds to throw it into space, THRICE, before decapitating it with a katana, in one of the most satisfying ends to any boss fight ever.]]

* [[LegendOfZelda Link]] from the LegendOfZelda series is an example in nearly [[LegacyCharacter all of his incarnations]]. He's polite, humble, [[FriendToAllChildren good with kids]] (unless of course his current incarnation ''is'' [[KidHero a kid]]), and often {{Adorkable}}. He's usually a FarmBoy, a blacksmith's son, or something equally quiet and peaceful. He's just generally a nice guy. Until you hurt [[KnightTemplarBigBrother his little sister.]] Or the village kids. Or [[DistressedDamsel Princess Zelda...]] Or whoever his ImpliedLoveInterest is this week. First he'll ask politely for you to give them back. She may be meek and submissive and faint easily, but if you push her around long enough, she will push back with strength that terrifies the entire Aristocrat Club.

** The only ones who ever fought a war of any kind with the turians in recent memory and didn't end up horribly mauled and/or reduced to a client species was humanity, and that was because of Council intervention.

* Welkin in ''ValkyriaChronicles'' is more of an OfficerAndAGentleman. His [[http://karmaburn.com/files/screenshots/valkyria_chronicles/aliciaisara0101.jpg little sister Isara]] is a different story. When she and her pregnant neighbor are threatened by two imperial soldiers, she grabs a rifle and shots one of them in the back when Welkin arrives to save them. And THEN she goes to the barn to get their fathers [[TankGoodness OLD TANK]]! Technically Welkin commands the tank for the rest of the game. But actually it's shy little Isara who controls this pimped out rolling death mobile and blows countless other tanks to pieces. Making her effectively by far the strongest unit in the game.

* SuperSmashBrothersBrawl showed that should the normally chivalrous but calm [[http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4_m5AsTPaPw&NR=1 Link]] or [[http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pf5qQARxGm8&feature=related Mario]] mistake you for severely harming their beloved Zelda/Peach, you will either get a sword or fist plowed into your skull.

* In the {{Pokemon}} games, with the exception of Blue in the first games, every single League Champion is perfectly friendly to the player in the field, then they clash for the title and pull out their team of Pokemon 15-20 levels higher than your own, all pumped up with the strongest moves they can know.
** In the Gold and Silver games, gym leader Jasmine is first seen literally having abandoned her post to take care of a sick Pokemon at the Olivine lighthouse. She is also incredibly shy. Some more gameplay later, you get to fight her...and one of her Pokemon is a Steelix. Which knows [[IncendiaryExponent Fire Blast]].
** Also in the first games, Red was a quiet boy, that exemplified how important is caring of pokemon. After spending three years in [[TrainingFromHell Mt.Silver]]? Strongest trainer of the entire series.
** Many of the Pokemon themselves also fit, like the sweet innocent Togepi, who grows up into Togekiss who has the second-highest Special Attack of any Normal-type Pokemon. For a point of comparison, a Hyper Beam used by Togekiss is ''just as powerful'' as a Hyper Beam used by [[OlympusMons Arceus]]. And the Pokedex describes it as a harbinger of peace and goodness!
*** Cubone. FridgeLogic aside, there's a story of one that had its mother killed by Team Rocket. It picked up her skull and one of her bones and swore revenge. It doesn't help that back in the generation it was introduced, it could increase its attack stat while attacking so much it would overflow. Did I mention is a small, lonely dinosaur hiding inside an oversized skull?

* The Turians of ''MassEffect'' are generally pretty nice guys. They are almost all unbelievably polite. They're heavily militarized, but strongly civic-minded, highly responsible, steadfastly loyal, place the greater good before the individual, and are quite willing to work with and protect other, weaker civilizations or species. However, if you provoke them into war, they make ''damn'' sure you are ''never'' able or willing go to war with them again. ''Ever.'' They conquer everyone they fight. But give you compensation afterward, just to make it perfectly clear how well this fits.

** Heck, arguably all the Council Member races are like this. Including humanity. The Salarians might seem weak and science-y but cross them and they'll wipe your species out.
*** Exactly. The Codex says that the Council races are more or less equal in terms of military power, but they excel in different areas. Turians have discipline and ruthlessness among the ranks, crushing everything with an unchecked amount of professionalism and firepower; Asari commandos are the strongest individual warriors in the galaxy, with each on containing immense amounts of biotic power; humans are naturally adaptable and flexible, having grown in a world with large cultural differences, and are generally regarded as the hardest race to strategize against. Their soldiers' abilities to fight effectively in any situation and their commanders' quick responses and creative thinking give them a reputation for being very difficult to kill, in space or planetside; and the Salarians are masters of espionage and special warfare. It's even explicitly stated that Salarians have started every war they've ever fought, and they've done so without any warning.
*** If the Salarians are attacking you, it's because the rest of the army is at the other side of your base. If they assault your headquarters, it's because they just spent the last five years subtly tearing apart everything you've done.

** In ''MassEffect 2'', Joker himself notes that Jacob is much too nice for a professional soldier. ** One of [[PsychoForHire Zaeed Massani]]'s old war stories include being nearly strangled to death by a Hanar, a jellyfish-like race whose racial hat is unceasing politeness and piety.

* While more know for his [[MascotWithAttitude attitude]] than his rival Mario, SonicTheHedgehog is generally an easy-going free spirit with no real ill will towards anyone. Cross anyone he cares about, however, and he'll plow through armies at Mach 3 to neutralize you, and that's when he's not even angry.
** Provoke him enough, and, provided he has the Chaos Emeralds arround, he'll go Super on your ass. Super Sonic is a GameBreaker of epic proportions.

** Commander Shepard him/herself can be the kindest, gentlest, supreme paragon in the game. Even when played this way though s/he still gets a good share of ruthlessness, from threatening one of his/her crew with a gun to telling off news reporters who question him/her, and these are the good, nice options.
