** In a very twisted way, Sigismund's real motive for The Breaking. By ripping and tearing his way to Khorne's own blacksmith underneath the Skull Throne, Sigismund discovered how Guilliman had secretly bound Rogal Dorn's will to himself during the Heresy. Shattering the Imperial Fists and driving Dorn into Daemonhood through sheer rage? The countless Blood Crusades? Sigismund sacrificing the "Eternal Crusader" and his own life to Dorn's fury? All to break Guilliman's chains and forever devote Dorn and his sons to the Blood God. And Khorne is clearly impressed: when Dorn smashes Sigismund into a gory puddle, the Destroyer is immediately reborn as a Daemon Prince. Rogal Dorn even manages to see reason and spare Sigismund for the time being.

Rather than an inevitable Chaos victory under Roboute, Aeonid Thiel made it possible for the Imperium to win the FinalBattle against Roboute, Chaos and all other threats assailing them in the Times of Ending.

** In "The Cadian Apocalypse Part 3", Cain rallies the demoralised Imperials after they receive word of the Emperor's death and prevented a total collapse of Imperial morale. Near the climax of the story, he is revived by a shard of the Emperor and becomes an Imperial Saint, rallying the Imperials to stop the Dark Angels' plot to mess with the Cadian Pylons. Incidentally, he also freed the Lord of Wraiths who killed him and his vengeful spectres from the Dark Angels' enslavement, leading to its own awesome moment.

** During the Heresy, Omegon goes on a journey across time and space to deliver Ollanius Persson to the Emperor, an act that all four Chaos Gods were desperate to prevent more than ''anything else'' in the war, throwing cultists, xenos, traitor Astartes, and demons at them in vain. The Gods ultimately resorted to unleashing Aetaos'rau'keres, one of the earliest Lords of Change who predated and even nearly ''matched'' the power of Tzeentch, who nevertheless was defeated by Omegon in spite its power and attempts at a BreakingSpeech. They failed.

** A Flashback to the distant past of Old Earth revealed he and Ollanius to be the ones who took out a cabal of mad sorceror-kings who put many noble sages into a FateWorseThanDeath inside a great tower to decipher the reality-warping lore of Enucia, which became the basis of the Tower of Babel legend. The real awesome part was what the Emperor chose to do: At first, he wanted to callously seize the research for himself against the objections of Ollanius... then he thought about the implications and realises to his horror what he was going to do was unconscionable even by the standards of the setting. Choosing to do better, he agreed with Ollanius to destroy the tower, a choice which ultimately contributed to the AdaptationalNiceGuy he became in the RH-verse by the time of the Great Crusade who was a much better parent to his Primarch sons and a much better leader in general for Humanity.

By being killed by Lorgar, he scatters his power throughout the galaxy and its history, creating every Living Saint to have ever lived who would help give Humanity a fighting chance to survive the Time of Endings. Moreover, with his death he managed to make Chaos Gods killable, as for all his rejection of divinity he did become god, and as the Warp operates by ClapYourHandsIfYouBelieve by letting himself be killed by Lorgar he made deicide possible if one has the proper means to do so, giving Humanity the means to defeat the Ruinous Powers where previously impossible.

** The Emperor rejecting godhood in itself is one. He could had lived free from the torment of the Golden Throne, or got himself the power to finally save Humanity, but he knew the risks are too great that he might turn into a Power which causes Humanity harm like the other gods or nascent gods of the Warp, and in the end chose death rather than deification to give Humanity their chance of surviving the grim darkness of the far future. Few would had the courage and resolve to make a similar selfless choice.
