Mid-way through the escape attempt, it becomes clear that Arslan is going along with Etoile parkouring around the capital city less because of the threats to his life, and more to attempt to peaceably get Etoile to surrender and avoid unnecessary bloodshed, even saving her from a nasty fall at one point.
