* Subtle, but when we catch up with Lydia she's either a highly-placed executive or actually owns her own company, and is talking about harvesting sound for renewable energy. As a banshee who Stiles once proclaimed would win a Nobel Prize (actually a Fields' Medal) for "some math equation", the implication is that Lydia ''has mathematically described how her banshee wail works''.
* In general, the first act of the film as we catch up with many of our old favorite characters, where they are now and what they're up to in their lives, and meet new characters like Derek's son Eli. It's an awesome reunion with old friends, inviting us to join them on another adventure.

* Scott and Allison going full BackToBackBadasses (with a hint of BattleCouple) against the Oni. Near-unstoppable monsters, and the Alpha Werewolf and BadassNormal hold their own for an impressively long time. Then, when they're on the ropes, Lydia, with Jackson's prompting, stops the Oni and restores all of Allison's memories with a banshee wail.

* Derek's son, Eli, has some -- werewolf performance issues, unable to transform to the point he doesn't even think he's a werewolf, and so can't even heal. With a sprained ankle and Allison in pursuit, Scott tells Eli he's going to have to learn and learn ''now''. When Eli, who has been rejecting Derek's efforts to teach him, asks how, Scott simply draws on his Alpha power and howls at Eli, who immediately flashes golden eyes and heals up.

* Allison, back from the dead but lacking in memories and manipulated by the Nogitsune, showing just what a determined werewolf hunter is capable of. She ambushes Derek and Eli, nearly getting Eli with a sniper arrow shot but for Derek's keen senses and instincts. She then fights Derek to a standstill, capitalizing on his moment of confusion when he realizes he's fighting ''Allison'', and catches him in the next with a crossbow bolt as he tries to flee. Only Liam and Hikari showing up [[BigDamnHeroes just in the nick of time]] keeps her from finishing Derek.
** Hikari and Liam are awesome in this moment as well, Liam catching Allison's first arrow and Hikari immolating the second with her Fire Kitsune powers.
