* Blue gets his ass mentally handed to him when he tried to sass Red for him ordering Blue to take the Silph Co.'s secretary to Celeadon City's police station.
--> '''Red:''' Blue. Take her to Celadon City and get her to the police station there.
--> '''Blue:''' What?
--> '''Red:''' We've gotta fill the police in on what's going on. We're gonna need their help.
--> '''Blue:''' Are you kidding me? No way. Who'd wanna do ''that?'' I'm outta here, Red.
--> '''Red:''' Blue!
--> '''Blue:''' I'm working to reach the Pokémon League so I can become the next champion. Smell ya later.
--> ''Literally not even a SECOND after Blue says his infamous catchphrase, Red runs up, grabs him by the collar of his undershirt, and pins Blue against the wall. That's what you get for the sick burn.''
--> '''Blue:''' Take it easy. What are you doing? Let go of me!
--> ''Red follows up with another sick burn back at him.''
--> '''Red:''' Didn't you feel anything at all when you heard about what's happening to those Pokémon Team Rocket caught?! If not, then you can't ''really'' call yourself a trainer, RIGHT?!
--> ''After a few moments...''
--> '''Blue:''' Tch. Okay. I get it. Let me go.
** Red's reaction to Blue sassing him is probably equal to the reaction of lots of players whenever Blue drops his infamous "smell ya later" catchphrase in the games.

* Most of the battles qualify, really. Its very faithful to the games while showing it off in an anime style, along with remix version of the game's BGM.

Not really an example of an in-game event. o3o

* The fact that this OVA even exists is a CMOA.
** To put it into perspective, it covers the Game throughout with a few tweaks to keep the story going onto the ending where Red triumphs over the Elite Four and becomes champion and then goes back to his original goal, catching all known Pokemon, including Legendary Pokemon.

** Special mention to the sheer power behind the Fire Blast Charizard launches against Blastoise, which proves to be the finishing blow. And this is after Blastoise hit Charizard with Hydro Pump, which it withstood against all odds.
