From Murdoch finding evidence of Prescott's bribing corrupt police officials to Julia getting the convict who Prescott paid to attack her to turn on him to Higgins and Crabtree finding evidence of Prescott's corruption and getting his accountant to turn on him, Brackenreid finding Prescott's main enforcer and getting him to turn on Prescott too, Effie getting the body of Prescott's mother exhumed to find the critical evidence that exonerates Julia and proves Prescott's murder, the Alderman empire is torn down piece by piece.

When he hears that Roman Catholicism, he points out the improbable which Catholics believe in -- virgin birth, son of God and resurrection, and says: "And yet I do not mock you." It's even more awesome as Detective Murdoch takes it very well and sees his point.

And here comes William's crowning moment of awesome: He says that she has his support, completely, but also that it's her argument and that she doesn't need him to rescue her because she's strong enough to fight on her own.
