[[folder:The 2000 film]]
* The recreation of the Grinch's classic evil grin.
* Cindy Lou-Who isn't just TheCutie, she's the bravest little girl in Whoville. Let's see:
** After doing extensive research into ''why'' the Grinch [[DarkAndTroubledPast is the way that he is,]] she then interrupts the Whobilation nomination ceremony for the "Holiday Cheermeister" to nominate the Grinch, the ''last'' person most Whos would consider. And proceeds to show up the Mayor in public, by quoting from his own Book Of Who on why turning the Grinch away would be wrong, followed by convincing the entire crowd of Whos, including her parents! Keep in mind the Grinch has been a notorious outcast for decades, and she accomplished this in a few minutes.
** And ''then'' she has the guts to walk right up to the Grinch's home at the top of the mountain, and invite him in person. Despite the Grinch's reputation, not to mention him trying ''very'' hard to spook her into leaving, she isn't the least bit scared of him. And when he eventually gets tired of her and dumps her down the trash chute, ''she laughs!''
** In short, we should all be so lucky to have Cindy Lou-Who's combination of a big heart and remarkable courage.
* Just like the original 1966 special he does yet again lift up the sleigh, only this time it’s not just the power of Christmas giving him the energy, it’s seeing Cindy Lou in danger of going over with the sled that boosts him with PapaWolf power.
* Lou stopping the Grinch's speeding sled with ONE HAND.
* Building on the above--when the sleigh is careening into the town, Martha and Betty-Lou, who have spent the ''entire film'' obsessing over their Christmas decorations, immediately rush to their front yards and start ripping down everything they can to slow the vehicle down. They don't wait for a second to sacrifice their work to save Cindy and the Grinch. And it ''works.''
** Extra awesome points go to Betty-Lou for realizing that her one-sided rivalry with Martha is a waste of time. She doesn't hesitate to ask her former "arch-enemy" for help (which is itself an implicit admission that Martha's display is fuller and better than her own), and Martha, to her credit, doesn't hold the slightest grudge while she works to save Cindy.
* Lou standing up to the Mayor, saying he's glad the Grinch stole his presents, because it helped him realize what Cindy spent the whole movie saying, that Christmas is more than all the gifts and contests, it's about love. Also counts as a SugarWiki/{{Heartwarming Moment|s}}.
* The Grinch's ENTIRE [[TheReasonYouSuckSpeech tirade against the Whos]], calling them out on their hypocrisy and avarice when it comes to celebrating the holidays. While the Grinch is sadistic and grumpy at best, [[JerkassHasAPoint he definitely makes a good case about it]].
--> '''The Grinch''': Of course they are. That's what it's all about, isn't it? That's what it's '''always''' been about! Gifts. Gifts. Gifts-gifts-gifts-gifts-gifts-gifts! Do you know what happens to your gifts? They all come to me... in your garbage. You see what I'm saying? [[PunctuatedForEmphasis In... your... GARBAGE!]] I could hang myself with all the bad Christmas neckties I found at the dump! And the avarice... the avarice never ends! "I want golf clubs!" "I want diamonds!" "I want a pony so I can ride it twice, get bored, and sell it to make GLUE!" Look, [[BlatantLies I don't wanna make waves]], but this whole Christmas season is... stupid! Stupid! Stupid! ''(looks up to and advances towards Martha May Whovier)'' There is, however, one teeny-tiny Christmas tradition I find... quite... meaningful.... ''(snatches the mistletoe off the ring box and holds it over his head)'' ....mistletoe. ''(Holds the mistletoe over his behind)'' Now pucker up and kiss it, Whoville! Boiiiiiiiiinggggg!
** Then afterwards, he takes the razor the Mayor gave him, [[HoistByHisOwnPetard shaves his hair with it]], and [[TakeThatKiss kisses him on the cheek]], before proceeding to just ''go to town'' and wreck the Whobilation. After what the Whos did to him back then, and then showing that they learned nothing even decades later, it's ''so immensely satisfying'' to see Grinch bring hell upon them. Especially the Mayor, who only allowed the Grinch to attend just to [[SchoolyardBullyAllGrownUp bully and embarrass him one more time,]] and pretty much got what he deserved.
--> '''The Grinch''': (smiles after shaving the Mayor's hair) Uh-oh. Somebody's..... FABULOUS!!
* The film's glorious recreation of the Grinch's Christmas heist.
* This Grinch is a GadgeteerGenius. He managed to build a (mostly) working, flying sled, [[HomemadeInventions out of nothing but literal garbage and junk]]. And while this would've most likely taken days for someone to do, he did it in just a ''few hours''! (This aspect of his character was kept and exaggerated in the 2018 version.)
* In the original book and the animated film, the Grinch lifts the sleigh after "the true meaning of Christmas came through, and the Grinch found the strength of ten Grinches, plus two". The movie, while it doesn't have that line, does put that feat into perspective by showing us what the strength of just ''one'' Grinch is. It turns out that even prior to his HeelFaceTurn, the Grinch was already ''freakishly'' strong. It even went back to childhood when, fed up with all the bullying he's had to suffer through, the young Grinch lifts an entire Christmas tree and all its trimmings over his head and throws it across the room. That said, when the Grinch has his change of heart and saves the sleigh and all of Whoville's gifts, it's still a triumph.
** Even more awesome by having the Grinch save not just the sleigh, but Cindy Lou as well!
* The scene near the end of the film where Martha publicly refuses the Mayor’s marriage proposal. Doubles as a SugarWiki/{{Heartwarming Moment|s}}.
-->'''Martha:''' Merry Christmas, August May-Who! I’m afraid I do have something for you. (''Holds out the ring box to him'') Your ring back. I’m sorry, but my heart belongs to... (''looks directly at The Grinch'') ''[[SugarWiki/HeartwarmingMoments someone else]]''.
