* One for the villains: The Kenan Army is delayed coming to the battlefield due to storehouses being destroyed, and this is immediately believed by both Norristar and the Alliance as Imperial sabotage. This forces Norristar to commit to the battle as a stalling tactic to receive the Kenan troops. Once they arrive...Kenan betrays Norristar and they are completely overrun. King Sallas is caught while fleeing; Elektra and Maxim are missing in action [[spoiler:although they turn up later]] and Kenan also sabotages the boats in Twinhorne, as he reasons the Alliance would have likely fled there. Had it not been for Melridge's strategy, the shi'arc allies, and Yulin executing the plan, the Alliance would have lost.
* The battle at the Alliance Castle near the end of the game counts. Initially outnumbered, the only saving grace you seem to have is that one of the enemy legions (the revenants) is about to disappear, yet Dux Aldric still has the numbers advantage (including a rune-lens dragon) [[spoiler: Shortly after the revenants are defeated, the Dendriarch shows up in a new hulking form and takes the dragon out of the equation. The Elves then show up to provide assistance, and at the same time Elektra and Maxim show up with a legion of Norristar soldiers, and charge at the Empire forces. A ploy involving a fake attempt to flee the battle by Perrielle and the Kenan rulers' reactions to it convinces his second-in-command to change sides. Furthermore, the Empire general Goldwyn takes the opportunity to also turn against Dux Alderic, armed with the proof of Duxs' treachery against the former Emperor and his lineage that Seigns' father managed to dig up.]] The following battle ends with Dux fleeing the battle with his power-base within the Empire crumbling, causing the tide of the war to quickly turn in the Alliances' favor.

* Early in the story, when Dux Aldric makes his move and invades Grum County, Perrielle proves that she's a shrewd leader by convincing Nowa and the rest to leave, claiming that she has a secret passage she can use to escape. She's lying and intends to go down with the ship, with Sabine and Janquis staying behind with her. However, when Aldric confronts her, she coolly tells him that not only will she not bend the knee to him or Galdea, he's going to let her and her retainers walk out of town freely, as killing her will only make her a martyr. [[VillainRespect Aldric is actually impressed and agrees to this.]]

True to form from the minds who brought us Suikoden, this game carries a good amount of badass moments from the heroes.
