The being is just called a "shadow"; a "Gebbeth" is when it possesses a sentient victim. Giving it some sort of fantasy name counteracts the point of the novel, which is that it doesn't have a name.

* Desperate to escape his "shadow," Ged ends up back at the home of Ogion, who tries to convince him he needs to face it rather than continuing to run. It's not certain the advice is taking hold, but then morning arises and Ged is gone, with only a simple message left behind: "Master, I go hunting."

!!Books
!!!A Wizard of Earthsea
* In the very first chapter, Ged creates a dense fog to repel an invading army, tricking some of them into riding off a cliff before the rest retreat. The story soon spreads across the country, and he earns his name.
* The old archmage closing the gap in the world that Ged's broken summoning spell had opened. HeroicSacrifice.
* "Ged stepped forward and struck the lord's hand down with his own, saying as he did so only one short word. And though he had no staff, and stood on alien ground and evil ground, the domain of a dark power, yet his will prevailed." In the Court of the Terranon.
* Ged facing down the Dragon of Pendor is probably second only to Bilbo and Smaug when it comes to "dealing with a dragon" scenes. Of course, Bilbo just wanted to get out of there alive; Ged's goals were a bit more ambitious.
!!!The Tombs of Atuan
* Ged holding off an earthquake and the wrath of an ancient evil for over a week.
!!The Farthest Shore
* Ged closing the gap between life and death. He literally saved the world. And [[spoiler:it cost him his magic]]. See the parallels?
!!!Tehanu
* Tenar was cursed. But she could still think in Kargish.
* And, she managed a counter-curse the first time that EvilSorceror tried to curse her.
* At the end of Tehanu, Kalessin is definitely this, DeusExMachina, and BigDamnHeroes.
