** Some awesome points to the Saiyans: The fact that they had snipers in place and a full blown plan to take out Frieza and Cold if anything went wrong is very admirable.
* The Saiyans being officially upgraded from an entire race of idiotic [[BloodKnight Blood Knights]] to having something that resembles an actual functional society. Complete with mundane jobs like food prep, scientists, engineers, and doctors [[KlingonScientistsGetNoRespect all of whom aren't treated with open contempt]] like such professions would be in other series. Of course, every aspect of their society contributes toward their ultimate goal of fighting strong races and conquering planets but it's so refreshing to see.

* Broly's introduction on planetoid Vampa in the present day. When Paragus, Cheelai, and Lemo are attacked by a giant mite, the latter two panic and draw their weapons. Paragus, however, screams Broly's name, and Broly hears this from seemingly miles away, [[DynamicEntry launching himself to his father's position]] and [[CurbStompBattle kicking the monster away in a single hit in less than two seconds.]] All the while, Cheelai's scouter is locked onto Broly and reads a power level that [[ReadingsAreOffTheScale exceeds the highest number readable by the device]]--which is implied to be ''99999''--even though it is the newest model available.

* No mention of the soundtrack? While all of the movie's soundtrack is of above average quality, particular note has to go to the music that plays when Goku challenges Broly. Even after counting the shredding guitars and thundering drums, the whole track is backed by what can only be described as a "hype choir," cheering both Goku ("Kakarot!") and Broly on directly. Almost as if they themselves were channeling the desires of the audience, demanding as much violence, intensity, and awesomeness as possible. Go Broly, GO GO!

'''Meta'''
* Give Toriyama credit where credit's due. He managed to take one of the biggest {{Base Breaking Character}}s in the franchise and reimagine him in such a way that even Broly's most vocal detractors have taken a liking to this new version of him. He also improved his divisive take on Bardock by giving him part of the characterization people liked from the original special. The man may be a self-admitted [[WritingByTheSeatOfYourPants pantser]], but there's no denying he's good at what he does when he's focused on it.
* The simple fact that they ''didn't'' have to shoehorn a reason for Broly to not like Goku is this. Instead of the [[DisappointedByTheMotive backstory involving him being annoyed by Goku's crying]], they have the two meet ''naturally'' and form a rivalry on the spot. This ended up going a long way towards fixing Broly's whole character.
* How about the fact that the release date between the original Japanese film and English is only around '''one''' month apart. This shows they meant it when they were going to release this movie globally. For comparison, the difference in release date between the original and English version of ''Battle of Gods'' is around 18 months and ''Resurrection F'' around five months.
* The movie opened in the US on Wednesday, January 16th with ''7 million dollars, making it number one at the box office.'' While ''Glass'' would release a few nights after, it still maintained a spot in the top 5 movies of the weekend and is currently the third highest-grossing anime film in the US. The American fanbase for Dragon Ball sure stepped up and made this film a winner. Some analysts have even said that the film's success might convince Hollywood that "cult" movies can be safe investments again. Nobody would have thought a limited release Dragon Ball film could do that.
* As of this writing, the movie has been given an 80 percent "Fresh" rating on Rotten Tomatoes. There's no denying that the franchise is a critical and commercial success in the US at this point.
* How about the fact that the movie got such a positive reception despite being condensed from a ''three'' hour script to around 1 hour and 40 minutes. Just imagine how amazing the film would be if Akira Toriyama's entire script was used instead.
* Just two weeks after its release, this film is already the third highest-grossing anime film of all time, surpassed only by the first two ''Franchise/{{Pokemon}}'' films.
* To a lesser extent, the fact that every time new information or a new trailer came out for the movie, Broly sat on Twitter's top trending list for ''hours''. The last time that happened with Super was during the final episodes of the Tournament of Power.
* Chris Ayres makes his return as Frieza's dub voice in this movie. This action is so astounding because he has COPD, and his lungs are only working at around '''20-30% capacity on a good day'''. He made his way back to the mic and knocked his performance right out of the park, despite having mostly nonfunctional lungs!
** After Ayres' death in 2021, which while sad, one can say with confidence that this was a last performance he was no doubt proud of. Rest in peace, Chris, you legend. Love and laughter always.

** After months of speculation about who the movie's villain is. Ranging from a new character to a pre-existent one (Yamoshi, the original Super Saiyan (god) primarily being theorized). It turns out it's none other than Broly, the original Legendary Super Saiyan. BaseBreakingCharacter aside, it's still amazing that a movie villain became a CanonImmigrant and opens the door to many more characters becoming {{Canon Immigrant}}s. It's also confirmed that Toriyama himself has written and rehashed Broly's character into something more relatable and interesting, instead of the GenericDoomsdayVillain he was in the original movie.
