* It's downplayed, by The Assassin's achievement deserve mentioning. In retaliation for Dante enslaving him and sleeping with his wife as part of a deal for freedom which Dante actually honored, a deal that his wife offered, the Assassin kills Dante, travels all the way to Europe to find Dante's home, and kills Dante's father and his love Beatrice. He suffers no consequence for this and gets away scot free while also kick-starting the events of the game in the first place. Love him or hate him, the whole thing is incredibly badass for one man to pull off.

* Approaching Dis while controlling Phlegyas. It's a visual masterpiece. As you make your way on the path to Dis, the camera slowly pans up and eventually shows the ''entire'' city of Dis in all its horror, amplified by the music playing. Made even more awesome since Dante recites part of Canto IX from the original poem:

* The game's very premise, the very poem it's based from. -->"We moved toward the city, secure in our holy cause, and beheld such a fortress. And on every hand I saw a great plain of woe and cruel torment. Bitter tombs were scattered with flame made to glow all over, hotter than iron need be for any craft. And such dire laments issued forth as come only from those who are truly wretched, suffering and forever lost!"

changing Namespace thing!

* The end of the boss fight with Cerberus. It starts with the last head of the creature devouring Dante whole, chomping as if it had won the fight...until you see an action command on the screen. Cue beams of light bursting through Cerberus's skin as it squirms in pain, getting brighter and brighter with each button press until '''BANG'''--the head explodes into big, chunky pieces as Dante lands victoriously. In the words of [[TheMatrix Neo]], "Whoa."

-->'''Beatrice''': My god... I understand. You may deceive, manipulate, cajole. You may lie and bargain and trick. But you are as much a prisoner as any soul here. In all the ways that matter... the Devil is '''impotent'''. But ''I'' am not. In life and death, others have used me for their own ends. But now I have the power to do what they could not. If Lucifer cannot defeat Dante... if Malacoda cannot... '''I shall'''.

-->'''Beatrice''': Yes. For now I understand. You ''need'' me. I do not know why. You are incapable of love, and simple lust is something you could force upon any held within your sway. But for some reason, you must marry me. And that means you are not the one with power here. ''I'' am.

-->'''Beatrice''': Of course, for I gave my word. But do not seek to frighten me, Lucifer. Though it surprises me to say, you have no ability to do so.
