* During the second trial, K1-B0 pull off a particularly impressive example of SpottingTheThread given his role as a side character during the debate whether a ropeaway murder was really possible. When Monosuke tries to explain to the confused students how standing on the windowsill to the gym at night is not the same as entering the gym at nighttime which was forbidden, he says that he and his siblings were asked about it before and decided that it was okay. K1-B0 points out however, that because someone had to have asked that question in the past, then it is very possible that the culprit was the one to ask about that when they confirmed the details of their plan. Monosuke's subsequent OhCrap reaction and the subsequent berating he receives from the other Monokubs about giving away such a crucial detail all but confirms that the ropeway murder had to have been used, which ends up screwing over the culprit since they had no other way to pass the blame onto someone else.

* Even if it's all for naught, you gotta hand it to Kirumi for doing, or at least attempting, what other culprits in the franchise didn't think to do: [[ScrewThisImOuttaHere Run like hell from her own execution.]]But no matter how hell-bent Kirumi was to survive, Monokuma did twice over to her with such a brutal death.

* During the second trial, while Shuichi was listening to everyone debate over if Kirumi was capable of killing Ryoma or not, this seems to have solidified Shuichi's resolve, overcoming his "alethephobia" and prove that Kirumi is Ryoma's killer.

* In the third trial, when Shuichi convinced a depressed Himiko to not betray Tenko's memory and how this trial is not for those who survive, but for those who died as well, Himiko's resolve was solidified, becoming more proactive through the trial, thus vowing to no longer say "it's a pain anymore".

* Just before Kaede is executed, Kaito, Gonta and Tenko flat out try to fight Monokuma to prevent Kaede from being killed. Yes, it likely would have ended in all three of them dying, but they were fully prepared to throw down to save their friend.

* Just before Kaede is executed, Despite how you think of Tenko, at the end of chapter 1, she stood up for an emotionally hurt Shuichi when Kaito was physically and verbally abusing him for "not doing anything"; at least, that's what Kaito thinks. * In Chapter 4's class trial, Shuichi finally has enough of Kokichi trying to browbeat the culprit, an amnesiac Gonta, into confessing, and firmly tells him to stop, insisting that ''he'll'' be the one to convince the culprit to confess. Since Kokichi had been essentially running the entire trial as payback for Shuichi's earlier lie, it's quite impressive to see someone turn the tables on him and actually get him to shut up.
