** Eggman, at least in the English dub. Initially a goofy yet still formidable AffablyEvil villain, he became more [[IneffectualSympatheticVillain bumbling]] and [[GoKartingWithBowser good natured]] to the point of giving fellow villains lectures about being merciful to their captives. One of his most infamous dub lines is "It's one thing to take them prisoner and threaten them but when you actually hurt somebody, that's going too far".

* {{Uncanceled}}: There were originally 52 episodes. After the GrandFinale, they produced 26 more episodes. A notable case in that the extra episodes didn't air in Japan or get DVD releases there, which kept their original undubbed and uncut form inaccessible to fans and viewers until they were made available through rental streaming services.

** In the dub of the episode where Eggman blocks out the sun and "helps" people by giving them Solar Balls, when Eggman starts fantasizing about what it'd be like if he had his own TV show called "Eggman X." He even announces to the audience to stay tuned for next week's installment.

** When Sonic is getting squeezed to death by the E-99 Egg Emperor (E-99 Eggsterminator in the dub), Decoe and Bocoe ask Eggman if he's really going to kill Sonic. He replies in the negative and rants about how, in anime like this, the good guys always win and the bad guys (like him) always lose. Note that this was a ThrowItIn by Chikao Ōtsuka, Eggman's Japanese voice actor, as in the original script Eggman didn't have any lines at this point.
