A faction wanting to return to Earth and take out Godzilla, lead by a young man named Haruo who lost his parents in a Godzilla attack, ends up taking political control and engages on a mission to return to Earth with experimental hyperdrives and finish the job, only to emerge 20,000 years later where Earth is overgrown and Godzilla reigns supreme.
After the success of ''Film/ShinGodzilla'', Toho on their Twitter announced an anime film is in the works, and is scheduled to be released in November 2017. To avert a NoExportForYou, Toho plans to release the movie on Creator/{{Netflix}} internationally after the film's theatrical debut. It has also been announced that the film will be the first in a trilogy.
