''Grunge'' began airing on the Creator/{{Toonami}} block on September 9th.

''FLCL: Grunge'' focuses on a boy named Shinpachi, who spends his time helping out at his father's sushi restaurant since he doesn't see much of a future for himself. Everyone knows the steam emitted from the giant iron-shaped factory on the hill is bad for the town of Okura, but nobody can do anything about it, so they don't try. The kids don't bother to go to school, and the adults don't bother to make him. He just works in his dad's sushi restaurant delivering questionably edible fish to the yakuza, and occasionally hangs out with his classmates Orinoko and the rock-skinned alien Shonori. However, things start to change when a beautiful woman in a red dress walks into the restaurant on the arm of the mayor. She calls herself Haruko… Just who is this mysterious woman? What's with this bump that's emerging out of Shinpachi's forehead? Just what is causing the Medical Mechanica robots to become so violent?

The new seasons were first announced by Creator/AdultSwim in March 2022 in celebration of Creator/{{Toonami}}'s 25th Anniversary.
