* ContinuityLockout: Oh it tries to be accessible to the uninitiated but between being 3 segments from three different points in time (before the start of season 1, after season 1, and in the middle of season 2) good luck not getting lost if you're not already somewhat familiar with the series.

* CoversAlwaysLie: Similar to how all the trailers and tv ads only focused on the third segment, the front cover of the movie poster focuses only on the third segment acting like the entire movie takes place during 02. The back of the VHS synopsis always describes a wayward Digimon kidnapping the Digidestined, which is true for the uncut third Japanese movie, but not for the American film.

* DemotedToExtra: Mimi and Joe get little more than cameos throughout the movie. In the third segment Mimi doesn't even appear and is only mentioned by Kari. Her scene with TK and Kari in New York was cut from the English Version due to a completely excised subplot involving all the older kids being kidnapped by Kokomon.

** One big one would be the final act of the movie, as in the original Kokomon was kidnapping the Digidestined and de-aging them. In the dub this plot point is removed and when the final battle happens the De-aging of everybody else comes out of nowhere and is not elaborated on in the slightest.

* NeverTrustATrailer: All of the advertising focuses solely on the second segment, presumably because it was the most interesting and they wanted to avoid telling audience it was a cluser-fuck of three different stories loosely tied together.

* ProductPlacement: Kari mentions she got her friend a pink [[Franchise/PowerRangers Power Ranger]] figure for her birthday.

* SoundtrackDissonance: A Huge chunk of the pop music used in the dub could qualify, especially when it was used in "Our War Game" the big offender would be during the phone jamming scene where "All My Best Friends are Metalheads" is used with no rhyme or reason for it being there.

Also notable in that the first two chapters of the movie (''Digimon Adventure'' and ''Our War Game'') were the directorial debut of director Mamoru Hosoda, who went on to make several well acclaimed films including ''Anime/SummerWars''.

* DangerouslyGenreSavvy: Infermon attacks Greymon and Kabuterimon [[TransformationIsAFreeAction as they finish digivolving]] [[InvertedTrope into their ultimate forms]].
* DarkestHour: When they get defeated by Diaboromon the first time and Tai and Izzy get reconnected they find that [=WarGreymon=] and [=MetalGarurumon=] are in very poor shape and practically unable to fight ([=WarGreymon=] being unconscious when they find him) and when it seems it can't get any worse [[spoiler:Izzy gets an email from someone who hacked into the Pentagon and found out a nuclear missile code named "Peace Keeper" has just been launched with no determined target by the Digimon (In the Dub this was changed to two missiles, one launched at Colorado and the second being aimed right at Tai and Izzy) it could hit ANYWHERE in the world and they have no way of tracking it, and they only have 10 minutes to find Diaboromon and stop the clock, easy right? Wrong, because he starts multiplying himself when the countdown starts and when they find where he is, he's already made 16,000 copies of himself.]]

* DubInducedPlothole: The film is crawling with them, which is inevitable considering that it was rushed out after being made from three Japanese films.

However, when alone with Terriermon starts talking in Japanese again justified later when talking to the group mentioning he used to have a japanese girlfriend and he learned to talk Japanese for her. However there is some incontinence later on when he calls his mom again and talks to her in Japanese even though he should be speaking English.

* IronicEcho: "Connection terminated." The first instance is an OhCrap moment when Tai's internet drops out. The line makes a comeback as a BondOneLiner when Diaboromon is killed by Omnimon's sword.

* RealityEnsues: Getting a truly massive amount of emails on a 90's dial-up internet connection gives them huge amounts of internet lag which ends up contributing to WarGreymon and MetalGarurumon's asskicking when they can't keep up.
* SawAWomanInHalf: Kari volunteers to have this done to her at a friend's birthday party while Tai, Izzy and their Digimon fight off Diaboromon.

* [[BigFuckingSword BFS]]: Omnimon sports one in the arm that constitutes [=WarGreymon=] [[spoiler: and eventually drives it through Diaboromon's head]].

* BFG: [=MetalGarurumon's=] contribution to Omnimon's arsenal is the "Supreme Cannnon." [[WaveMotionGun It's powerful enough]] to [[spoiler: wipe out hundreds of Diaboromon clones with a single shot.]]

* AmericaSavesTheDay: Subverted. When Diaboromon [[spoiler: fires two nuclear missiles at Japan and Colorado]] the American government tries to intercept them. [[spoiler: Their missiles, however, are redirected by Diaboromon to fall into the Pacific ocean.]]

There's also the fact that Angemon and Angewomon reach Mega and act like this is something they've always been able to do, and yet they never reached Mega before in the series and never do it again.
** This is explained slightly more clear in the original cut, due to the release of the movie inbetween episodes and Davis being the only one to use his second digi egg it is implied that this takes place [[spoiler: between the two month gap between their fight with the Evil Spiral Controlled Metal Greymon (Going by episode airings at the time this would probably be between episodes 14 & 15 since a news report brings up the two months since Ken Disappeared in the episode following the movie in japan)]], Gatomon is able to evolve into Angewomon because of the lack of a Dark Tower in the real world (She Does this in Episode 13 when fighting off the Airdramon in the Dark Ocean.) and when they evolve to Mega T.K. And Kari are visibly surprised by it as this is the first they do it and the Appearance of the Golden Egg's is a surprise to them as well.

** It's also worth noting that the plot of ''Our War Game'' could never take place past the year 2005, largely courtesy of infrastructural improvements in Internet connectivity and the explosive propagation of cell phones.

** If one were to subscribe to the theory that the virus in parts two and three was the reincarnation of Parrotmon from part one, then it's various lives would pan out as such, 1) Parrotmon, 2) Diaboromon, 3) [[spoiler: infected Kokomon]], and 4) [[DeaderThanDead DEATH]] cause FourIsDeath.

* PostCyberPunk: The ''Our War Game'' segment more so than the other sections.

* ContinuityLockout: A big complaint about the film is that the overall plot is all but incomprehensible to anyone who isn't already familiar with the franchise. The plot holes induced by the edits done to the US dub don't help the situation, especially in regards to the Hurricane Touchdown segment, which was literally shoehorned into the dub with two thirds of its footage removed due to executive insistence, despite barely relating to the first two parts of the film at all and [[RememberTheNewGuy having a whole different set of characters.]]
* ContinuitySnarl:The "Present-day" segment which was originally from a NonSerialMovie in Japan is now rendered canon in this CutAndPasteTranslation with Willis being name-dropped in the season 2 dub by Izzy and the Diaboromon plot being referenced several times in the show (as that movie was canon) but where exactly does it take place? Popular opinion is between episode 21 and 22 because Ken is nowhere to be seen or mentioned as a threat, the three new Digimon can't digivolve naturally yet despite the lack of control spires and Davis acts somewhat familiar with the Golden Digi-egg. But then you have Gatomon reach the Ultimate-level something we later find out she shouldn't be able to do at this time, and Angemon and Angewomon manage to reach the Mega-level despite never having been able to do that in the series and never do it again.

* ContinuitySnarl: Good luck trying to figure out when the "Present Day" segment takes place. The new kids don't have their Digimon digivolve to Champion so presumably before episode 22, Ken is nowhere to be mentioned as a good or bad guy and Davis at least seems familiar with the Golden Digi-egg so possibly after episode 21, but then you have Gatomon digivolving into Angewomon despite a later revelation that the original Digimon lost the power to go to Ultimate, and then we have Angemon and Angewomon reach Mega. A level they could never reach before and never do again.
