* TheLastOfTheseIsNotLikeTheOthers: Every one of the previous Digimon series were about 50 episodes long (save Xros Wars' 79) and had aired on television. Until the May PV had revealed that ''Tri'' would be a series of 6 movies, many had assumed that it would have been a television series like the others. The actual length of each movie is currently unknown, but regardless of whether or not they're half an hour long like most Digimon movies or feature-length, it'll make ''Tri'' the shortest Digimon series.

The sequel to ''Anime/{{Digimon Adventure 02}}'' in celebration for the [[MilestoneCelebration franchise's 15th anniversary]]. Unlike the prequel where it mostly focused on the new Digidestined, this series focuses on the original eight from ''Anime/DigimonAdventure''. The plot is set seven years later during their high school years, though nothing else is known about the plot itself.
