''Akiba Maid War'' (''Akiba Meido Sensō'') is an [[AnimeFirst original]] BlackComedy anime produced by Creator/PAWorks. The show began airing on October 7, 2022.

* LegitimateBusinessmensSocialClub: Every Maid Cafe in Akihabara and some of the businesses that support them are this, to varying degrees.

* BigBadEnsemble: The anime has two {{Big Bad}}s of the story: Nagi and the [[spoiler:Wuv-Wuv Moonbeam Maid.]] Nagi is the leader of Creatureland Group and the mastermind of the titular 1999 Akiba Maid War, as well as the mastermind of Michiyo's murder, her own mentor, out of spite due to her colliding ideals. She later becomes the sworn enemy of her former sister figure [[spoiler:Ranko]] and the Ton Tokoton staff, due to them being seen as a threat to the company. The [[spoiler:maid]], on the other hand, is the vengeful [[spoiler:surviving maid of the Wuv-Wuv Moonbeam café]], who is out for revenge against [[spoiler:Ranko for murdering all of her café's staff, thus making her more of a [[ItsPersonal personal antagonist]] to both her and Nagomi.]]

* EarnYourHappyEnding: [[spoiler: Nagomi struggles through bloody gang wars she never wanted to be part of, personally watches two of her closest friends die, and ends up a paraplegic, but all she ever wanted was to be a cute maid, and after all the bloodshed she gets to do exactly that in the epilogue, presiding over a revitalized Ton Tokoton in the process.]]

* BigBadEnsemble: While Nagi is seen as the primary BigBad and the mastermind of the series' events, there is yet another BigBad in the picture and that is [[spoiler:the Wuv-Wuv Moonbeam maid]]. * WouldHitAGirl: To be expected in the shady underground of maid cafes.
** The Creatureland debt collector has no qualms about having his would-be clients injured or killed if they don't give him the money and is not afraid to do it himself if he has to. His favorite target is usually The Manager, having her be used as a golf tee for another cafe after she bungles up a mission for him in Episode 2. A mission [[NotSoAboveItAll she fully expected]] Nagomi and Ranko to be killed in, and had planned to replace when they did. He later shows up at their cafe in Episode 3 and shoves his firearm into her mouth before giving her a black eye offscreen as they "talk business".
** The owner of the Maid Casino in Episode 2 has Ton Tokoton's staff nearly shipped away to a crab boat, one that not only breaks maids emotionally; but has claimed many a maid's life in the Bering Sea.
** Episode 3 has a group of figurine heads get into a shoot-out with the Akiba Fluffy n' Sweet Club's manager Dateno after they learn she killed their boss. She is KilledOffscreen with the rest of them.

Could be viewed as a DarkParody of Creator/PAWorks usually fluffy and friendly "Girls Working" shows (''Anime/{{Shirobako}}'', ''Anime/SakuraQuest'', and ''Anime/TheAquatopeOnWhiteSand'')

* AnachronismStew: Maid cafes in Akihabara were first established in 2001, but this show's entire premise involves them being entrenched fifteen years prior -- and some episodes claim they date back to the ''Meiji era''. [[spoiler:2001 would be just a little after Nagomi ends the Maid Wars, however]].

* AnyoneCanDie: Given that the show is about maid cafe mafia outfits and the gang wars that erupt between them, it's safe to say that any characters, major or minor, are welcome to die here. [[spoiler: Even the Ton Tokoton girls aren't safe.]]

* BystanderSyndrome: After [[spoiler:Ranko]] gets stabbed at the end of episode 11, Nagomi desperately begs for someone in the crowd to call an ambulance. Unfortunately all of them are likely too shocked to do anything but stare at her, [[spoiler:and it's likely that wouldn't have helped anyway, because Ranko dies a few moments later and the maid responsible was armed and would have attacked anyone trying to help out or apprehend her had she not slipped away as quickly as she entered.]] [[spoiler:When Nagomi gets beaten up by several other maids in the finale, not only does the crowd that witness this barely react outside of some confused looks, but outright leave in annoyance.]]
