* AbortedDeclarationOfLove: The goats try to get Prince Pegasus to tell Princess Blue that he loves her. After a few seconds of struggling to admit his feelings to her, he decides not to at the last second and instead says "I love watching ''Pleasant Goat''!"
* EdibleBludgeon: During the dance battle that begins the film, Paddi and an army of backup goats have lollipops with them, and Paddi swings his at Worley, managing to hit him just when Worley thinks he's dodged the candy.
* HappilyEverAfter: The main conflict is the goats rewriting Prince Pegasus' story to be a Happily Ever After with Princess Blue, as Brother Pony has kidnapped her to be his own bride.
* ParasolParachute: After he gets launched into the sky and knocks the wings off Prince Pegasus, Wolffy quickly grabs a parasol to ease his fall, making the joke that "The first beauty secret is to keep away from UV rays!" as he does so.
* {{Pegasus}}: True to its name, pegasi are the focus of this film, where the goats must write a happy ending for a story starring the Pegasus Prince, who lives in a cloud city populated by humanoid pegasus people.
* RecursiveCanon: A joke has Prince Pegasus being encouraged to confess his romantic feelings to Princess Blue and struggling to say his line, only to [[AbortedDeclarationOfLove cop-out at the last second]] and say "I love watching ''Pleasant Goat''!" instead. If this quote is anything to go by, the ''Pleasant Goat'' TV show (and presumably the films, {{manhua}}, merchandise, etc. as well) somehow exists within the ''Pleasant Goat'' universe itself.
* SelfDuplication: When Brother Pony initially kidnaps Princess Blue and is confronted by Prince Pegasus, he uses a computer mouse to duplicate himself and confuse the Prince.
* TheStarsAreGoingOut: The result of [[spoiler:Wolffy using a magic attack that cracks through the galaxy]] is a bunch of stars falling onto Pegasus City, destroying buildings and forcing the goats to save the pegasi. It's decided that pushing Pegasus City out of the way will alleviate the danger, with the goats and many of the pegasi pitching in.
* ThreePointLanding: At the beginning of the film, Wolffy appears and lands on the ground in this way.
* TurtleIsland: The floating island where Prince Pegasus and Princess Blue dance while the goats are chased by the wolves is revealed to be a large turtle with all sorts of plants and rocks on it.
* WeirdWeather: The film at one point features technicolor rain and lightning that forms over the SolidClouds the goats stand on, each drop and bolt a different color. One of the rain droplets forms a tree that the goats pull out of the clouds, revealing a bunch of beach items that Slowy decides would be good to build "sand" castles in the sky.

* TheArk: It does the "characters ride out a flood using an ark" plot using an ancient spaceship called the Ark. To get the ship running, you have to have at least one of each kind of animal in it... except the gang hits a snag there when one of the required animals is a snake, which they believe to be an extinct species.
* BagOfKidnapping: Weslie, of all characters, grabs a bag and traps Brother Bill the snake in it so that they can shut him up and bring him to the Ark spaceship. Wolffy even says that it feels more like something he would do.
* BambooTechnology: Quite literally; the snake family owns a fully functional television made of bamboo.
* BreakingTheFourthWall: At the beginning of the movie, Wolffy vows to avenge his "thousand episodes of insult". This wasn't long before the season ''Happy Formula'', which had the series' 1,000th episode in it.
* DivingSave: At the beginning of the movie, Weslie pushes Mr. Slowy out of the way to save him from shattered chunks of the forcefield he invented.
* EyeGlasses: One of the snakes wears a pair of glasses that seemingly contain his eyes. The insides of the lenses are entirely white, even from the back.
* IProduct: Wolffy's android lookalike is named [=iWolffy=]. Likewise, Mr. Slowy has a robot version of Weslie named [=iWeslie=].
* NoahsStoryArc: This film is about the goats having to get everyone into a big spaceship called the Ark to escape from a big flood affecting Goat Village. At least one of each animal needs to be in the ship to activate it, which becomes a problem when the goats need to find a snake, which they believe to be an extinct species, to activate it.
* NotSoExtinct: The goats learn that snakes are assumed to be an extinct species. As they discover, however, a small handful of snakes actually ''are'' still out there, but are hiding from the outside world and [[AssInALionSkin pretending to be other animals]] when they do go outside.
* RobotAntennae: [=iWolffy=], Wolffy's android, has an antenna sticking out of his head to distinguish him from the real Wolffy.
* RobotMe: Wolffy has a robotic version of himself named [=iWolffy=] who helps him. Additionally, [=iWeslie=], a robotic version of Weslie invented by Mr. Slowy, helps the goats and wolves on their adventure.
* WindIsGreen: Wolffy uses creatures called the Weathers with weather-themed powers at the beginning of the movie to fight the goats. The one that controls the wind is a pale green color.

* AccidentalProposal: Wolffy, while trapped in the prehistoric age and stuck in Paddi's body, hits one of the prehistoric goats with a stick in an attempt to stun it. The goat he hits is a female named Miss Lotus, and unfortunately for Wolffy, hitting another goat with a stick is the prehistoric goats' way of showing their affection for each other and gets him engaged with Miss Lotus.
* BlushSticker: Little Cutie, a green caterpillar Tibbie carries with her, has permanent swirl-shaped blushes.
* BreathWeapon: The stone dragon can petrify anything using its breath.
* FreakyFridayFlip: Wolffy has a body-swapping rug with him when he, Paddi, and Weslie are all transported to the prehistoric age. He and Paddi are on the body-swapping rug when they're transported, causing Wolffy to wind up in Paddi's body and vice versa for part of the movie.
* GiantFood: The Dragon Slayer Contest involves attempting to lift a giant pear known as "Glee-Gulu", which is old goat language for "very heavy". The fruit is only borne by its tree once every thousand years.
* ItWasWithYouAllAlong: [[spoiler: Paddi cannot find the Dragon Artifact he needs to defeat the stone dragon when he makes it to what he thinks is where it's located. That medal Weslie made for him out of a tin container lid that appears throughout the film? That's actually the Dragon Artifact.]]
* InterspeciesRomance: Miss Lotus, a goat, thinks Wolffy, a wolf, proposed to her and develops a crush on him.
* LovePotion: Mr. Slowy uses something called the "Cordial Spray" at the beginning of the movie to fight Wolffy, the Cordial Spray being heart-shaped and having aesthetic lips where it sprays the substance. It hits Master Paopao instead, causing him to fall in love with Brother Tai and chase him around passionately.
* MythologyGag: Super the penguin nicknames Weslie "0803". This is a reference to when the ''Pleasant Goat'' TV show originally premiered (August 3rd, 2005, or 8/03/05).
* TakenForGranite: The stone dragon can turn anything into stone with its breath and turns several of the characters into stone.

* BurningWithAnger: When Mr. Slowy gets angry at Wolnie for pestering him over Wolffy, he is surrounded by a flame.
* CainAndAbel: [[spoiler:Cha Cha and Dong Dong, who spend most of the film fighting each other during the war between the White Bull Kingdom and the Black Bull Kingdom, are revealed to be brothers]].
* CameraAbuse: When Wolffy tells Wolnie that they should probably let the goats enjoy their New Year's holiday, Wolnie hits him with a frying pan, causing him to hit the screen.
* CollapsingLair: Sparky accidentally blows up a bomb made by Wolffy near the control panel in Cha Cha's lair, causing the lair to fall apart and flood. Everyone makes it out of the lair perfectly fine [[spoiler:except for Weslie, who seemingly gets trapped in the lair, but even then he later makes it out perfectly fine as well because he landed in Granny Snail's slime and used some growing pills left by Wolffy to grow back to his normal size]].

Then, Weslie himself ends up stuck in Cha Cha's flooded headquarters, but comes back completely fine later after he is deposited in the toxins from Granny Snail and uses some enlargement pills left behind by Wolffy to return himself to his normal size]].
* EarlyInstallmentWeirdness:
** The film doesn't have the designated zodiac animal (the bull) featured as a character like the later ones. Instead, they simply give the bacteria kingdoms a bull motif in their names (White Bull Kingdom, Black Bull Kingdom, and Yellow Bull Kingdom).
** The film doesn't feature [[EnemyMine the goats and the wolves forming a team]], something that the later films would become known for.
* EveryoneLaughsEnding: The film ends with the goats laughing at Wolffy, Wolnie, and Wilie as they're launched into the air through a cannon.
* FingerlessHands: The various bacteria from the White Bull Kingdom and the Black Bull Kingdom do not have visible fingers on their hands.
* GlassSmackAndSlide: Wolffy suggests that Wolnie let him stop catching the goats for a while since they're having a party, and Wolnie hits him with her frying pan, which causes him to hit the screen and slide.
* HeroicSacrifice: Weslie seems to sacrifice himself after saving Wilie and appears to be trapped inside the bacteria cave of Mr. Slowy's snail forever. [[spoiler:He got out just fine.]]
* IncredibleShrinkingMan: Mr. Slowy invents a ray to shrink the goats to bacteria size.
* LuminescentBlush: Dong Dong blushes in this fashion after explaining his backstory to the goats.
* MirroredConfrontationShot: An official piece of artwork features Weslie and an army of White Kingdom bacteria soldiers staring at Wolffy and an army of Black Kingdom bacteria soldiers, clearly intent on fighting each other.
* PiggyBank: Mr. Slowy keeps the key for Old Mandy's various medicines for miniaturization in a piggy bank and breaks the bank with a hammer to get the key out.
* SharedUnusualTrait: Dong Dong and Cha Cha both have miscolored eyes (two red eyes and one blue eye) because [[spoiler:they're brothers born from the same parents, who were from opposing factions and had to move to a remote mountain to be able to live with each other. The members of one faction have red eyes while the members of the other faction have blue eyes]].
* SuddenVideoGameMoment: A Black Kingdom bacteria fighting a White Kingdom bacteria is made to look like a fighting game, with both having health bars and the Black Kingdom bacteria giving the White Kingdom bacteria quite the walloping in the form of a {{combo}}, K.O.-ing him.
* WaddlingHead: The various bacteria from the White Bull and Black Bull Kingdoms are nothing but heads with feet, tails, and stubby arms.

* BulletTime: One scene emulates this effect when Wolffy throws a bunch of arrows at Leopold. When Leopold dodges the arrows, the scene slows down and the camera moves around him, complete with a rippling trail coming from the arrows.
* ChainedHeat: Weslie and Wolffy end up chained together in the middle of the desert and must cooperate, trying to be set free.
* EvilOverlooker: One of the official pieces of artwork features the goats, Wolffy, and Lord Japper's assistants in the foreground, with Lord Japper himself above them, overlooking the scene while lightning appears above him.
* HamsterWheelPower: Lord Japper has Weslie run on a large hamster wheel-like apparatus to power the ferris wheel at his amusement park. Wolffy plays a prank on Weslie by spinning the wheel the other way, causing Weslie to lose balance and spin along with the wheel as Wolffy laughs at him.
* HollywoodMirage: Lord Japper throws Weslie and Wolffy into the desert, where they try to find a pyramid described Mr. Slowy as having a special totem that can make them invincible. They come across several pyramids that they think is the one they're looking for, only for them to turn out to be mirages.
* LifeMeter: Near the end of the film, the wolves and goats battle the Tigbot, a giant tiger mech serving as the power source for Lord Japper's amusement park. Throughout the entire sequence, every time the Tigbot is visible on-screen, it has a health bar which slowly depletes as the goats and wolves attack it.
* MagicCarpet: The sphinxes guarding the pyramid containing the totem give Weslie and Wolffy a flying carpet so that they can get back to the amusement park that was built where Goat Village is.
* MobileShrubbery: Wolffy walks around under a bush to avoid the various spotlights at Lord Japper's amusement park.
* OurSphinxesAreDifferent: The two sphinxes guarding the temple of the totem have odd animal-centric heads, one resembling a goat and the other meant to be a wolf.
* PainPoweredLeap: Weslie and Wolffy are in the temple containing the totem they are looking for and are suddenly surrounded by flames. Weslie jumps up to a pole that is hanging on the ceiling, but Wolffy cannot reach it, so he grabs a cactus and jumps on it to boost the height of his jump.
* RiddlingSphinx: Two sphinxes guard the temple of the totem and ask Weslie and Wolffy how many stars are in the sky. Weslie replies by saying there are as many stars in the sky as there are grains of sand in the desert, prompting the sphinxes to start counting the grains of sand. By the time Weslie and Wolffy make it out of the temple with the totem, the sphinxes are ''still'' counting the grains of sand.
* SuddenVideoGameMoment: A scene where Weslie and Wolffy traverse the temple is made to look like one of the ''Franchise/SuperMarioBros'' games.

The third film, ''Animation/MoonCastleTheSpaceAdventure'', has its and eighth films, ''Animation/MoonCastleTheSpaceAdventure'' and ''Animation/PleasantGoatAndBigBigWolfDunkForFuture'', have their own page.pages.

[[folder:''Dunk for Future'']]
* AdaptationalContextChange: A quote is borrowed from the series' ''Rescue Across Time'', Weslie asking Wolffy "How long have we known each other?" and Wolffy replying "About 5,000 episodes", as a throwaway joke. The original context was much more dark, as [[spoiler:Weslie was ''dying'' in the episode it came from]].
* BigGame: The premise of the film hinges around Team Defenders struggling to find the motivation to practice for the city basketball game after one of their previous matches with Team Tiger doesn't turn out so well. The film ends with them having a match with Team Tiger once more.
* TheCameo: The aliens from ''The Intriguing Alien Guests'' are among the spectators during the goats' big basketball game with Team Tiger.
*CloseOnTitle: The first thing seen after the Team Defenders crew get a picture taken in the ending is the logo for the movie.
* CompanyCrossReferences: Since the Chinese rights to ''WesternAnimation/{{Bernard}}'' are owned by ''Pleasant Goat'' owners Creator/AlphaGroupCoLtd., the character can be seen watching Tiger Wing's first basketball game with Weslie.
* ContinuityNod: Weslie and Wolffy have an exchange that's borrowed from ''Rescue Across Time'', episode 41:
-->'''Weslie:''' Wolffy, how long have we known each other for?\\
'''Wolffy:''' About [[BreakingTheFourthWall 5,000 episodes]].
* DownToTheLastPlay: [[spoiler:It looks like Team Tiger is going to win at first, but then it's demanded that the clock be reset, as it wasn't stopped when someone made the shot. This gives Team Defenders only half a second to land another basket... and they manage to do it, giving them two extra points - just enough to avoid being a point lower than or tying with Team Tiger.]]
* FantasyForbiddingParent: Tiger Wing always wanted to be a basketball player like his father. Thing is, he started to skip school in order to pursue this interest, and his father starts to criticize him for doing that, yelling at him to study instead and putting an emotional strain on his son. [[spoiler:By the end of the film, Tiger Wing's dad has decided to encourage this passion instead of trying to stifle it, at the suggestion of Wolffy.]]
* FormerlyFat: Paddi eats so much that he gets a bloated belly and cannot properly play in basketball due to his weight making it hard to run. By the time the training montage is done, he has exercised enough to be able to play again.
* FunnyBackgroundEvent: When the news reporter asks Weslie questions at the beginning of the movie, Sparky can be seen stretching Paddi's cheeks in the background, followed by Paddi tickling Sparky.
* GratuitousEnglish: Perhaps that title would be better translated as "Dunk for ''the'' Future". It's retained in the Japanese title of the movie, ''喜羊羊と灰太狼 DUNK FOR FUTURE''.
* GroupPictureEnding: The film ends with the Team Defenders members taking a picture with each other.
* MythologyGag: While this film does not follow the zodiac theming of the previous ones, it does feature tigers as the opposing basketball team, fitting how it released in the Year of the Tiger and hearkening back to the films' zodiac roots regardless.
* OneEyedShot: A close-up of Weslie's eye is shown when he fumbles a shot that costs Team Defenders the championship. The camera zooms in on his eye, revealing blurry shots of Team Tiger mocking him, spectators demanding their money back, and Blazey admitting it's his fault when a news reporter asks who he would hold responsible for losing the match.
* OrangeBlueContrast: One of the posters uses this to contrast Team Defenders, shown in blue at the top of the poster, and Team Tiger, shown in orange at the bottom.
* PunnyName: Mr. Al Cheapo, a chicken who constantly cuts down his employees' salaries when he sees them slacking off; he's likely named after the term "el cheapo".
* RainbowPuke: Paddi overexerts himself playing a game of basketball. When Slowy gets mad at him, he pukes a rainbow.
* SkippingSchool: Tiger Wing, an opponent to Weslie and his team, skips school a few times so that he can go play basketball. This understandably frustrates his father, who rightfully calls him out for ignoring his studies, but Tiger Wing doesn't want anything to do with this argument, saying he'd rather practice for the city basketball game.
* SlowMotionPassBy: While Weslie is chasing after Tiger Wing as he is being pursued by some motorcycles, Weslie passes by a fox girl in slow motion, looking her directly in the eyes. The fox girl is lovestruck afterwards, LoveBubbles showing up around her face.
* SplittingPants: Right at the beginning of the training montage that has the goats prepare for the big game, Paddi has enough trouble getting his sports shirt on after having eaten so much that it causes his pants to rip.
* TrainingMontage: There's one of the goats preparing to play in the big city basketball game, starting off rather poorly with such mishaps as Sparky exercising while playing a UsefulNotes/NintendoSwitch and Tibbie bumping into a lot of people while running, but getting better as the montage continues.
* TruckDriversGearChange: The cover of "Don't Think I'm Just a Little Goat" heard at the end of the movie pitch-shifts from an F key to a higher D key.
* WrittenSoundEffect: A sound effect bubble reading "嘭!!" - meaning "Bang!!" - appears when Tiger Wing's dad accidentally crashes his motorcycle near Wolffy, and twice later during the training montage when Sparky hits (or tries to hit) the basketball hoop.

* BulletSeed: The watermelon boy can shoot watermelon seeds out of his mouth as an attack.
* CreativeClosingCredits: The end credits scroll from right to left and take place in space, where the candy spaceship is depicted passing through various obstacles. Speaking of which, the ship and obstacles are all depicted as 8-bit sprites.
* DogPileOfDoom: When the gang fights an army of the Bitter Gourd King's gourd minions, Wolffy, while he is bashing the heads of two of the minions together, is targeted by a bunch of other minions who form a dogpile on him. * ExpressiveMask: The Bitter Gourd King wears a sheet of paper on his face bearing the Chinese symbol "苦", meaning "bitter". * FireworksOfVictory: [[spoiler:The Sweetness Tree forming and enveloping the Bitter Gourd King's mech]] is accompanied by fireworks in the background. One really has to wonder who's setting off the fireworks or how they would know to set them up; they're on the ''moon''.
* GelatinousEncasement: The first thing that happens to the goats' group when they land on the moon - which is depicted in this film as a LevelAte - is that most of them are encased in different giant jelly desserts that happen to be where they land. They all emerge from the jelly desserts with no problem, but not without Weslie freaking out over some small jelly hands - actually Mr. Slowy's - chasing him before it happens.
* GelatinousTrampoline: Weslie's gang is chased by some of the Bitter Gourd King's soldiers into the Jelly District, consisting of the ground being made entirely of jelly that the characters bounce on to outrun the soldiers. * MeaningfulAppearance: The Bitter Gourd King wears a sheet of paper on his face bearing the Chinese symbol "苦", meaning "bitter".

* PumpkinPerson: One of the Bitter Gourd King's gourd minions is a pumpkin man who, fittingly enough, has a pumpkin head.
* RabbitMagician: Wandi is a MoonRabbit who is practicing his magic skills. Among a few other magic powers, he can change his own appearance and use his hat to teleport himself and others to another location.
* RollingAttack: Weslie is chased by a melon trooper, who rolls around in an attempt to attack him. Weslie manages to dodge the attack when the melon rolls onto the edge of a cliff which crumbles and falls.
* SpaceEpisode: This film focuses on the goats going into space, specifically to the moon to prevent the Bitter Gourd King from making it bitter.

* LoveDodecahedron: Sparky wants Tibbie who is heavily implied to crush on Weslie. Wolnie is married to Wolffy, and still attracted to White Wolf who has no animosity towards Wolffy. Pink Fox is attracted to Wolffy, who's married to Wolnie. Wolffy is attracted to both Wolnie and Pink Fox. Played for laughs with Brother Tai and Sister Tigress--they're in love with each other, but Sister Tigress thinks he's actually in love with [[spoiler: Wolffy]].

Type 12 for Wolnie, married to Wolffy, and still attracted to White Wolf who has no animosity towards Wolffy. Possibly type 4 for Pink Fox, attracted to Wolffy, who's married to Wolnie.
