** The Imprisonment spell traps its victims in a prison either underground or in a PocketDimension, unable to die and usually in suspended animation that leaves them unconscious through it. However, in ''VideoGame/BaldursGateII'' you meet multiple victims who have been trapped by it and remained conscious throughout the experience, with most of them driven mad as a result.

* [[spoiler:Lady Furina of Fontaine]] in ''VideoGame/GenshinImpact'' is a self-inflicted version. Though they are free to act as they please in public and enjoy all the luxuries of life, it's all a facade. BeneathTheMask, they are absolutely exhausted of the role they've been placed on, which they have kept for 500 years. The crux of their torment is how they could not tell this to ''anyone'', lest their enemies find out and undo everything, ensuring they must bear this burden in solitude for centuries. And while theoretically they could just leave, that's not an option either as it would doom the nation they swore to protect. They are effectively imprisoned in a role they could not leave from, all alone, for hundreds of years. [[spoiler:Thankfully it all paid off and she is released of her imprisonment at the end of the Archon Quest.]]
