* It becomes popular to hate on the work. Later, after the hate dies down, newcomers who don't come on with the same biases appreciate the work, and some of the people who realized they had just jumped on a hate bandwagon take another look at the work and realize they were too hard on it.

What causes a work to be Vindicated by History?

* A later work provides other things to complain about, causing earlier works to be appreciated more.
