The way he treats Anne, though, hints that he may just be LawfulStupid and a bit petty; he tries ''Tasering'' her when spotting her in a movie theater. She went missing a few months ago, and three girls vanishing would have made news in the area. Thus, he could have found out who she was with a bit of detective work. As the Boonchuys point out after [[spoiler:the Plantars and Anne make it back to Amphibia]], he could have simply ''asked'' the Boonchuys for the truth, and they would have cooperated. Could it simply be that he is a ConspiracyTheorist that hates admitting he is wrong, or does he have tunnel vision?
