Dude, the entire point is that the whale is not scary - it (are there two whales?) is actually extremely helpful. And the inside of the whale isn't that scary either, unless you're a claustrophobic or something. The inside is actually quite beautiful, as Dory notes.
By the way, I am incredibly amused that Dory, the professed Queen of Cloud Cuckoo Land, is a fish.
