Oracle Hunter: Lord Dominius has been mischaracterized! First of all, his "Domains" are not D&D domains at all, and are not his. "Illusion" is clearly the domain of Luna, Goddess of Wangst (to be added?), while Lord Dominius utilizes the (real) domain of Trickery and the (fake) domain of Smugness. Family belongs to Miranda, too. Lord Dominius also needs Law (for His plots are never off the rails - plus Command spells). Oh, and he needs to Portfolio of You Can't Fight Fate.

Peteman: Considering he's supposed to be the Champion of Balance, shouldn't his alignment be True Neutral?

Nonentity: I'd agree, his fondness for duplicity and manipulating sorry, 'guiding' his supposed allies, in addition to his opposition to certain law-enforcement groups don't strike me as being lawful. On the other hand, I don't understand why the Pantheon idea really needs to be based-off D&D in the first place.

Oracle Hunter:

  • @Peteman - for a Champion of Balance, he seems to favor "doing things his way" (see Snowsong) as opposed to stamping down on extremists. I mean, the WA Werewolves seem to be pretty extreme in their hatred of humans (and Milov pretty extreme in exiling all Callanians for being cheated on by one) and yet Lord Dominius didn't bat an eye. In retrospect though, Lawful Evil is going to be a better alignment, since a LN type would at least play by his own rules.
  • @Nonentity: The reason why it's based off of D&D is because the whole format cribs from classic D&D descriptions of deities. Plus, it's funnier that way. As for alignment, he is more Lawful than Neutral because he runs the world on very strict rules: Jocks are Bad (except Dex), Racism is Bad (except for orcs-hating-humans, and werewolves-hating-humans...), and the Military is Bad. Hmmm... perhaps he is neutral, but he needs the Law domain (all those great Command Domain spells!), so he has to be Lawful.

Peteman: Well, considering he's got aspects of all alignment from an in-story justification, maybe he should have all four alignment axes. And maybe you should include Story vs demonstrated alignment (include in discussion if not blatantly obvious). I did with the Richard Rahl entry (despite the fact that he's supposed to be a good guy, he's a mass murdering filibusterer who's probably only slightly less despicable than the Empire he's fighting). Also, where does he use all the Command spells (I haven't gone through the thing recently, so my memory isn't perfect).

And as for the allowing other races to be utterly racist jackholes... [[sarcasm: well, he's just being tolerant of other people's cultures and their cultures calls for them to be a bunch of jackholes to anyone that isn't them]].

Oracle Hunter: That would just make him utterly nuts. Nah, we have to pick out his dominant traits. I don't think "compassion" is one of them (see his utter non-concern for anyone (but Celesto's) motivations or well-being, plus being willing to risk an entire town so his brother could play dress-up) which kind of removes "Good" - and his general selfish demeanor makes me exaggerate that to "Evil." On the axis of Law and Chaos, he much prefers Order (in Snowsong, he only "changed his routine" to fool her; also see utter non-sympathy for chaos in any form) and his intense disgust for Errosus in all it's forms.

If you'd like, we could call him "Smugful Evil" :D

Peteman: I don't think he's evil, more a reckless, self-absorbed jerkass that doesn't quite yet fall into evil. I added the comment that he's supposed to be True Neutral but whether or not he is open for discussion.

Roland: I think he's probably closer to Lawful Neutral with mild good tendencies. Sure, he's a jerk, but he does what's right when it counts and is open to redeeming others.

Willy Four Eyes: Fixed his description a bit. Since Eragon's been kicked out of the Theater house, Dommy's shooting for Kyon's throne (one step below...or above Haruhi, depending on your interpretation).

Peteman: I've changed his alignment to reflect what he is supposed to be in story, with a proviso about his jerkassiness.

Me: How about this: Anakin Skywalker, God of Fucked-Up Prophecies?

Digi Flame: Could we put Earl Hickey from My Name Is Earl as one of the followers of the God of Karma?

Batfan: This page really needs either MacBeth or the else the Three Witches to be the God/Godesses of Prophecy Twists.
