Soon after I made this entry, I saw an episode I'd missed that contradicted it. Apparently, the girls do get one power-up. The Heart of Kandrakar did not create portals until late in the series; at first, it only sensed them.

I didn't realize this because in the pre-power up episodes, the girls never seemed to have trouble finding a portal when they needed one.

Jefepato: Not to mention that the girls all power up (and gain a variety of abilities that don't relate to the elemental theme at all) at the beginning of season 2.

Jefepato: Is Caleb really The Ace? While he's pretty awesome in most measurable ways, and displays savvy early on while the girls are still blundering, he doesn't seem to eclipse the other heroes when it comes to anything important...not to mention that he gets completely shut down by magic-using villains on multiple occasions, thanks to his lack of any powers.

The Grim Sleeper: You have a point, but he does seem to have a knack for the part with various feats of daring do and bragging about it. Maybe he's more like a very well-rounded Worf Barrage; just enough victories to make him seem like quite a badass, but not strong enough to deal with proper attacks and captured enough to be Mansel in distress. Or a sixth ranger, who doesn't mind asking for help when he needs it. Or gets less screen time over time. Face it, this ain't an easy show to trope.

The Grim Sleeper: Is there a separate page for the comix? Shouldn't there be something about them?

The Phantom Squee: I haven't seen one, but I agree that there should be.

koolkame: What is up with the Hay Lin Hate on the main WITCH page? Asian Airhead and Brainless Beauty don't seem to describe her very well since she's depicted as equally intelligent as the other girls (barring Taranee) while Brainless Beauty seems to fit Cornelia to a T. Hay Lin seems more like The Cutie which doesn't imply stupidity as much as a little obliviousness. Seriously, can we at least get some examples for the two entries? The girl is a talented painter, for crying out loud.

The Susan praise for being a Hot Shounen Mom is perfectly accurate, though.
