From YKTTW Working Title: Video Game 3D Leap
Eric DVH: Since the handheld game was originally going to be one of those cheezy spinoffs (you know, like the gameboy “ports” of the Tony Hawk and Tomb Raider games) for the original version of the game. The original game played almost exactly like CBFD for the most part, it's just that Conker spent so much time in Development Hell, by the time it escaped it no longer resembled the handheld game or cameos in other Rareware titles. Removed the following:
- Conkers Bad Fur Day, despite being an In Name Only sequel (The original Conkers Pocket Tales had Conker as a cute kid who was having a Birthday party organised by Berri (Who was a cute Little Grey Squirrel and around the same height as Conker. In CBFD, she is a Chipmuck who is taller than Conker) when the evil Acorn came and kidnapped her and took his birthday presents too.) was totally reworked from the Beta game "Conker 64: 12 Tales" to the foul mouth, dirty, materialist squirrel (and Game) we all know and love. One of the very few 2D to 3D jumps in which the 2D version is widley seen as inferior and people can agree that CBFD was a massive improvement on the original game. Heck, try finding someone who has even played Pocket Tales.
