Night Stalker: This page really needs some examples from the Seinfeld show itself.
Licky Lindsay: I call shenanigans on this: "many still talk about calling someone on the "horn" because of The Flintstones, where phones had receivers made of cow horns". I swear I've seen it called that in things like The Three Stooges and other shows/movies that significantly predate The Flintstones.
Haven: Indeed. I'm kind of skeptical of this trope in general. But...I'm just glad no one has tried to add TV Tropes as an example; some people on the Order Of The Stick forums apparently think the phrases Chekhov's Gun, Lampshade Hanging and Cerebus Syndrome all originated here (granted, the latter cam about a little more recently, but still).
