Rogue 7: Bastard. And I've played a very fun variant of this (incedentally, I do support renaming this) with geography and letters. It's really interesting because so many things end with "a" and most things that START with "A" end in "A". I played it for like 2 hours in a car going home from a quiz bowl game.
Mads: Yeah, this game is pretty common in English (and I assume other languages) too. Although I don't know if there's an official title for it. Usually in English it's restricted to a category, since there's no "n" rule.
John Z: I wrote a small PHP script set long, long ago to have this game on my web site. The more I think about it, the more I want to try redoing that as a Word Press plugin or something— my regular visitors got the chain up to over 400 words.
