Ship Now, Patch Later launched as Obvious Beta Discussion: From YKTTW

Krid: I removed the entries for Daggerfall and Final Fantasy V Ij. Although they DID have bugs, these bugs were mostly minor and/or invisible in normal gameplay and/or thought to be expected behavior by the fanbase. For example, Vanish/Doom only worked on SOME bosses, and using it to end certain battles would reliably prevent you from being able to obtain rewards later. Also, I'd like it if people would avoid using "X... Just X" since the goal here is to provide examples, not cite sources.

Lord Seth: Out of curiosity, is the poem/song at the start of our own creation, or is it borrowed from somewhere?

Krid: Wrote it myself. Yes, it's intentionally bad - or, if you will, an Obvious Beta.

Danel: Removed the Fable 2 example since, while it may have bugs, this is probably an inevitable part of such a Wide-Open Sandbox game being unable to eliminate all of 'em. There's no real sense that they didn't try - I played it completely without a single problem.

Ununnilium: Cut a bunch of Conversation In The Main Page.

Wild Knight: I contest the Tales Of Vesperia example, as I think most people calling it an Obvious Beta are butthurt fanboys and opinionated yellow journalists. It's true that the PS 3 version is a lot more complete, but the general sense I got from most people was that the 360 version also felt like a complete game on its own, and it's definitely not broken in the sense that there are few, if any, bugs (and the bugs that do exist tend to be thought of as Good Bad Bugs instead of Game Breaking Bugs) and the gameplay is very smooth overall. However, as there are also valid arguments for the game suffering from Xen Syndrome and Dummied Out characters and plots (References to Patty were found in the 360 version's code), I don't quite feel comfortable cutting it myself...but does this really deserve to be on the same page as Big Rigs and Sonic The Hedgehog 2006?

Some New Guy: Original poster of the example here, and on further recollection I agree with you. As such I removed its recent re-entry. If anyone wishes to defend the claims against Vesperia, please do so here.
