f: Cadia is the third most fortified planet in the galaxy, of course he is going to have trouble getting through it. It has been noted on multiple occasions that if he does break through Cadia then he will likely plunge all of Segmentum Obscurus and most of the Imperium into darkness. As for wrecking lawn ornaments, are you aware that he is only barely stopped each time and that each Black Crusade results in the death of billions of Imperial soldiers?

Peptuck: Indeed, Warhammer 40000 is Serious Business. Can't ever be allowed to poke fun at it, can we? Besides, this is Warhammer 40000. Killing billions and barely being stopped is the equivilant of only knocking over a few lawn ornaments in this setting.

Large Blunt Object: Actually, the Abaddon bit is kind of inaccurate - Abaddon has had plenty of successes in the past. During the Gothic War, he laid waste to an entire sector, toasted stars with the Blackstone Fortresses and Planet Killer, and his previous eleven Black Crusades were by all accounts serious threats to the Imperium. The miserable failure of the 13th and the fact that every time he has been beaten back (at the cost of billions of lives and insane destruction, but that's standard procedure for anything in 40k from flushing a toilet on up) might qualify him for this, but he's not completely ineffectual. Also, it's spelled Abaddon.

(later): Edited this and the 40k page to a bit more accurate, hopefully without losing the funny.

Rob Mandeville: Somewhat off the topic, but I had to put it in. I look at the page for General Failure and notice that the context-sensitive ad selector has decided to put up a campaign ad for John Mc Cain...

Operator: Is no one going to mention the Pink Panther, or Inspector Gadget? Maxwell Smart, even?

Daibhid C: None of them are incompetent leaders. If Clouseau, Gadget and Max were highly skilled operatives, doomed to failure because Dreyfus, Quimby and The Chief kept giving them stupid orders, that would be this trope. But they aren't.
