Working Title: Crazy Awesome: From YKTTW

Ilcier: Is it just me, or are some of these examples actually just examples of Badass or Bunny-Ears Lawyer?

Cukeman: Is there a reason why they have to be one or the other? Because they are not the same thing. For example, I consider Godot from Trials and Tribulations to be a Badass, and of course he's a Bunny Ears Lawyer, but I wouldn't put him on this list.

Stranger: Would Haruhi Suzumiya belong here or not? She's on enough tropes as it is but she certainly seems to fit this one. Just wondering.

Cukeman: Personally, my inclination would be to say "not quite". Her quirkiness is certainly related to her function in the story, but since she's neither aware of her ability nor does she ever quite hit the mark when it comes to paranormal/supernatural phenomena, it's pretty indirect. Someone might think differently, though, so don't take my piece as definite.

Sapphire Forever: Where would Andy Kaufman fit on the scale of Crazy Awesome-Bunny-Ears Lawyer?

Janitor: Yes, this may indeed be the Ultimate Subjective Article. Settling in now for five or so years of point/counterpoint. Luckily, we do have the Subjective banner.

Twin Bird: Am I the only one who thinks works as examples should be cut with extreme prejudice? This is starting to look like the poor man's you-know-what.

Cukeman: Alternatively, it could be cut altogether; upon reflection, this realy wasn't a great idea..

The Pein: I think it would be a good idea to just cut it. After my Captain Obvious Idiot Ball-moment earlier when I tried to "define" this trope, I came to accept that there's nothing this trope really defines that isn't covered by Bunny-Ears Lawyer or Cloud Cuckoolander already. This is just like the Magnificent Bastard trope - it just tries to list the best and most notable of their respective "subtropes". Even though That Other Wiki-strictness isn't exactly characteristic for Tv Tropes, this kind of trope is the one we need to get rid of simply because it - like I did earlier on - restates something that's already established and tries to make it sound better.

Cukeman: Yeah pretty much, except it's more like an idiot just wants to feel important by coming up with a cool trope. But methinks I'll just stick to character pages and obscure webcomics. Now how does one cutlist a trope...?

Red Viking: I think it should be kept. Bunny-Ears Lawyer is someone with an obvious weird quirk who is tolerated because he/she is good at what he/she does and a Cloud Cuckoolander is someone who is not all there. That, in of itself, does not automatically make these characters awesome. Crazy Awesome is when those weird quirks do make these characters awesome. I just think it should be cleared up some more because I always thought that was the case.

Twin Bird: ...maybe. I honestly think there's something to a character whose insanity, rather than his or her more standard traits alongside insanity, serves to make him or her a powerful force in the plot. But since there don't seem to be any challenges to cutting works, I'm just going to go ahead and do that for now.

Madrugada: I agree with Red Viking. This one needs to be kept. It is different from both Cloud Cuckoo Lander and Bunny-Ears Lawyer. However, the examples do need to be pruned ruthlessly by people familiar with the works. Too many sound like they're crazy or awesome, but not Crazy Awesome according to the definition. And I think the definition is quite clear.

NightraidThis one most certainly needs to be kept. And i agree that some pruning may be neccesary, but lets try not to overdo it.

Janitor: Request no examples, perhaps? It's a maintenance nightmare as stated, else.

Some Sort Of Troper: Pssh! What is a trope page without examples when only by existing within examples can a trope be said to exist. If you want people to stick to the apparently fairly clear definition then put down some examples that show it off. Make them really precise and exemplary and burn all the rest if needs be but show us that the trope actually exists if you're going to keep the page around.

Janitor: I guess. As long as it isn't me.

Twin Bird: Maybe this shouldn't be listed as subjective? And the image should probably be changed...

SpiriTsunami: Since I can't seem to see the page history, I have to ask: Was this written before or after the page image was changed to being from a movie that, correct me if I'm wrong, has only been out for a little over a week?

Madrugada The comment above yours? After. It could use a better picture — that one relies on people having seen the movie.

Charred Knight: Power From Madness IS NOT this trope, they are not even remotely related. This is basically Bunny-Ears Lawyer taken to the extreme. Though I do recommend that the examples be cut simply because it's starting to get large amount of people who are not really examples. Also the picture is indeed awful.

Anonymous Mc Cartneyfan: I'm with Charred Knight on the difference.... Power Born of Madness is for magic and superpowers. This is the mundane version... But if this is a trope, and not The Same But More Bunny-Ears Lawyer, then we should be able to tell which examples here are examples.

Mbututu: Why the hell is tOrGO here? He doesn't have a single second of awesome in the entire movie. In the middle of everything he is found sleeping by his master, and takes a full minute to stand up! You have failed us, T Vtropes.

Fighteer: You don't Cut List a page with 700+ wicks, Twin Bird! You put it on Trope Repair Shop to get it fixed.

Looney Toons: This page has been on the Cut List for a week now, with no significant changes or fixes. I'm not going to to cut it yet (tho' another Cut Master still might); if it's going to get fixed, fix it now.

Tokuiten: I'm sorry, but putting a page with this many wicks on the Cut List is abuse of the feature. Only admins should be able to Cut List a page with more than 20 wicks—anything else should require a forum discussion.

ProfVanHobo: The page should definitely stay, Although it needs a little trimming. (Tommy Lee-Jones as Two-Face? Really?) It's a very dear trope to this troper, And a marvelous ideal to strive for. Also, The reason Torgo is here is because he is beloved by fans for his quirkiness, Not because he is an incredible badass, Which is another thorn in my side: People, A Crazy Awesome is NOT someone who is incredibly badass. It is someone who is cool, Loveable, or a good character, And able to function in the work because of, Not in spite of, Their quirkiness.

Memetics: When I first arrived, I expected the page to be about extreme awesomeness. But once I read the description, it made some sense. I think the trope could be described more clearly, however, perhaps with a more-concise definition. Or maybe we could have a defining example - which might also help give a model for guiding the proposed example-trimming.

Also, in the (current) last paragraph, it says "On average, every other action the Crazy Awesome does is cool, awesome, and/or funny, over-the-top, or a combination thereof. The Heroic Sociopath is a Crazy Awesome whose 'crazy' is being a complete psychopath." Aren't sociopaths and psychopaths different things?

Cukeman: Feel free to change it however any of you want. To date this is the only trope I've written a description for, and I concede that it's not exactly the greatest of descriptions by a long shot.
