HeartBurn Kid: I think we already have this somewhere, though the closest that comes to mind is Tying Up Romantic Loose Ends...

Shire Nomad: It's Temporary Love Interest. Merge/cut this one?

Fast Eddie: Or is it Girl of the Week? Nah, it's Temporary Love Interest.

Sci Vo: Merge and turn this into a redirect. It is a clever name, albeit a redundant trope.

Roxana: That's why I added it, though I did discover it was slightly redundant. I did not originate the name and unfortunately don't know who to credit or I would have.

The fates of Toshiko Sato's love interests:
  • 1. Became a serial killer, killed in a shootout with former teammates, then returned to life and was killed again identically.
    • Huh?? Are we talking about Lisa? Lisa was Ianto's girlfriend.

Jonny B Goode: My friends and I used to call this "Little Joe Syndrome." Because you knew any girl who fell in love with Little Joe was going to be pushing up daisies by the end of the show. Although it is related to Tying Up Romantic Loose Ends, I think it should stand on it's own, as in popular culture it is a well-known trope.

This Troper doesn't know how to start a troper tales page.

  • Truth in Television: When this troper declares a character to be her favorite, that means that character is going down. James Norrington and Will Turner, Shadowcat, Jim Gordon (but not really), Gwen Stacy, Cinderpelt, Gambit, etc.
    • This Troper has had the exact same problem for years. And still does.
      • This troper has two words on this subject: Exploding. Tumor. She also had the misfortune of first walking into Torchwood and developing a raging Ianto crush just in time for Children of Earth.
      • This troper has this and also the exact opposite; if he hates a character, it is bound to be alive and kicking untill the show ends.
    • This troper has that kind of luck with food products.
    • This troper has that kind of luck with TV shows.
      • Don't we all, sadly...
    • This troper has that to the extent that when she declared that she liked a character's name, he died ten minutes later.
    • This troper has had this with authors and musicians. An especially apt example would be, after hearing the song "Marvin, I Love You" I was instantly compelled to find and read The Hitchhikers Guide To The Galaxy. I ordered it at the nearest Sam Goody/On Cue (remember them?) and on the day I went to pick it up, they informed me of two things: they screwed up and the order was mistakenly canceled, and, oh, did you hear the author Douglas Adams died today too? Also, shortly after changing my major, and shortly before transferring to another college, my class advisor from my original major passed away shortly after saying hello to me in the hall.
    • This troper seems to be able to kill magazines as soon as I start getting interested in them. Most of them are gaming magazines, though I managed to kill Dragon and Dungeon, despite only reading Dragon. This troper wonders if he could use his powers for good...
      • I hope you use Windows...
      • I hope he uses a Mac.
    • This troper's curse is gaming shops. 4 dead and counting.
    • Jobs for this troper. And it's difficult enough just to find them!
      • Seconded. this troper turn in a dozen apps, and suddenly they aren't hiring.
