Working Title: Best Friend is/with the BigBad: From YKTTW
- Sakura in Fate Stay Night. The plot was building up to it, of course, and Shirou even recognizes the threat she could pose. Why is she a big bad friend? Only really makes sense when you realize that she is Not Brainwashed. She's actually a yandere with a huge inferiority complex for her sister and is intensely jealous as well. So all the jerkassy stuff that she had been doing? That really was her idea. She was not under Zouken or Angra Mainyu's control. But she gets better because otherwise the Heaven's Feel route would be a humongous downer.
- Err, no, it wasn't. She wasn't consciously aware of anything that she was doing (she saw it as a dream), until after she kills Shinji and accepts the contract with Angra Mainyu.
I'm not sure if she fits here or not (I've removed it, but I won't object if someone puts it back with a suitable edit to the description to make it factually accurate). Whilst she's the Big Bad, and also Shirou's friend (and lover), she is brainwashed to a certain extent, and she's certainly not aware of her actions for most of the route. Reading the description given on the page, she doesn't fit at all. She's never in control of her actions until she undergoes a Heel–Face Turn, at which point she kind of stops being his friend (he still cares about her, but only because she's gone insane and he wants to save her). However, as my username (Cherry_Lover) may suggest, I'm not exactly the most unbiased of people, so it's better if someone else decides, really.
