Tanto: Why in holy hell was this launched? We weren't anywhere close to consensus in YKTTW. For the record, I still don't think this is a legitimate trope, separate from Let's Split Up, Gang!, Guest-Star Party Member, and Arbitrary Headcount Limit -- and even if it was, this name is poor, because we've already got the separate and unrelated trope Something Completely Different.
Sniffnoy: Yeah, I was certain this was getting lumped.
Morgan Wick: Zeta has some 'splainin' to do.

Willy Four Eyes: I think it should stick, because it does have some validity. This one is different in that the characters being switched start from the beginning with their own separate subplots that get weaved into the main story. I don't agree with the name, though. Might I suggest something less confusing? Something along the lines of Viewpoint Shift or Player Perspective Switch?
Big T: Concur with WFE. The distinction is that this combines parts of each of those three tropes, and if one action can do all three, and it is repeated often enough, I think it's definitely a second trope.
Of course, I also concur on some sort of name change (although WFE's suggestions are boring). The word change occurs so late that many people probably read it incorrectly (in other words, I did). Even Some One Completely Different would be preferable, as it separates the changed word, making it more obvious.
