Regarding Neon Genesis Evangelion: While "gospel" isn't a proper noun by itself, in the context of the show "Evangelion" is the proper name for the class of bio-mecha that appear in the show, just like "Patlabor" is a proper noun even though it's an abbreviation of "patrol labor", or like "Sol Bianca" is a proper noun even though it's ungrammatical mixed Spanish/Italian for "white sun". — Dracula On A Bike
