Yow!

This entry leads me to think that a new major category is called for. Something like Producers , a category where influential creative people are spoken of ... Walt, Joss, Simons, even Spelling or ... Burnett patoohie.

Discussion?

Looney Toons: Well, I really didn't mean Walt Disney as an individual — I was just remembering that when I was a kid in the 60s we'd watch "Walt Disney" on Sunday nights, not whatever actual title happened to be current. I figured most people would remember it that way, too.

As for the proposal proper, yeah, why not. There are a number of individuals who have proven to be powerfully influential as a result of the shows they've created. Roddenberry, for one, has had such a major impact on our culture by virtue of Star Trek. Whedon is definitely another, for bringing some of the first real pomo shows to TV.

Gus: Added an index page for Producers, to see if it attracts any entries...

Ununnilium: Now that we have Producers, we might want to make this an entry for the man and his company, and split off a separate one for the show - say, The Wonderful World Of Disney?

Janitor A Series entry for The Wonderful World Of Disney seems to be indicated. A reference back to the "the man" in this entry makes sense.

Houdini: Wait, three decades of family programming? He's been around a lot earlier than the eighties, people...

Pancake Mix: The man himself was...hrm. I recently did a thesis paper biography on the man himself, would anyone particularly mind if I rewrote the whole thing to provide a synopsis of his life and career? Er...Not to impose, though, but I'm absent-minded, so leaving a note on my contributor page would be a handy reminder if it's fine.

Wacky Meets Practical: Shouldn't we have two pages? One for Walt Disney the man, and one for Walt Disney Studio? I just paid a visit to the Producers index and noticed that Walt Disney was under the list for major studios, yet the article seems to focus on Walt Disney the individual. I think both Walt Disney the man and Walt Disney the studio are both very significant topics, and both have been very influential, but they are still two very distinct entities and deserve separate pages.
