Reviews: Inhumanoids

A gem disguised as another toy line

Inhumanoids seems like just another merchandising craze from the eighties until you see the introductory episodes. The show, like Jem, was conceived first as 6 minutes shorts and then expanded into a 22-minute series. Aside from that pesky reporter, that's all that is related between the two shows. The combination of the creepy, fantastic elements, Adult Fear and complex storyline puts it a cut above most other Merchandise Driven fare. (I'm looking at you, Stone Protectors.) It's a good thing it can still be found online, because even today it's worth a look. The animation has aged fairly well, and the storyline will satisfy adults. This is a show I would put on par with Exo Squad that is only slightly better than Bureau Of Alien Detectors.
