VideoGame Reviewing the (Remade) Series!.
This series is about the hilarious adventures of an stick person thief called Henry Stickmin made on Flash. You would expect for it to be mediocre at best, yet thanks the the good ideas put behind the games they become interesting.
The story of all the games are simple yet captivating, with no errors in the continuity that could be seen. With my favorite moments being the entire Just Plain Epic path of Stealing the Diamond, and both Triple Threat and Special BR Overt Ops paths of Completing the Mission.
Any good story would be just dead air without good characters to sustain it and, even when Henry himself is quite bland, the rest of the cast isn't, with the likes of Charles and Ellie being excellent additions to the cast and the Toppats Clan is a quite fearful enemy faction.
The graphics and animations are beautiful with a lot of care and detail put into them. Just check the distraction dance scene if you don't believe me.
Even the soundtrack is incredible, with my favorite pieces being the Pursuit parody and the song that parodies those that appear in Jo Jo.
All in all a masterpiece of a series that I would recommend anybody to play in a heartbeat.
VideoGame It's funny, that's about it
Is surprising how popular this game has become these past months (probably because of nostalgia), especially considering that this game is nothing but dumb simple fun (calling it a game is a stretch really).
The characters and story are super simple and I would even say intentionally generic, the series starts having more continuity as it goes on, but don't expect deep characterization or compelling characters arcs, this series is nothing but joke after joke.
So, is the series funny? I would say, mostly yes, most of the humor relies on references, but even then, even if not all of the jokes land, the variety of the humor and the comedic timing might get a chuckle out of you once or twice.
One thing I applaud about the game is the brilliant "ending mixing" system from "completing the mission", is such a creative and ambitious idea to prevent Cutting Off the Branches, and I kinda wish to see it used on a more serious narrative.
Overall, this is just a comedy game, you can experience the game by looking at a You Tube playthrough, so If interest you, buy it on steam to support the developer
