Over the 4 or 5 episodes I've seen of smds, I say there is a few laughs in an episode, It doesnt escape the view that CBS recycles its sitcoms like the other networks such as Fox Channel.
My main gripe with the show is William Shatner. He's not a overly noticible douchebag. He's more of a goof on the outside and you kinda need to dig deep to find it, imho. But is character Ed, just replace the guy withArthur Spooner
or Charlie Harper
and it'll come off as bitter, sarcastic and mean as if there was no change. It was too jarring to hear him say the phrase "Blow your balls off" in such a low-educated manner, as if he's just reading off lines off the script.
The show devotes a little too much screentime to him and Henry, I really dont care too much of Vince and Bonnie. Maybe thats more of a writing volley than the normally great talen of Will Sasso and Nicole Sullivan.
Maybe its CBS or TV in general, but I'm getting tired of these sitcoms that center almost entirely on Jerk Ass
