If you don't mind the admittedly steamy sex scene that does take place, the story is actually really touching. Not only does it manage to capture the characters well, it also offers both a dreary look into the aftermath of the War and a surprisingly good justification as to why they're still together in canon down the line, long after they're supposed to be divorced. Without spoiling anything else, let's just say England and France didn't expect what happens.
