This movie was quite a trip, filled with amazing visuals and awesome character moments. New character Rody was quite the treat, and the villain was not only a serious threat, but someone who kept me thinking long after the movie ended.
I really enjoyed the basic plot. Unlike other MHA movies, this one focused on less characters and had a little more downtime to spend on developing Deku and Rody's friendship. Their moments were really cute, and they made me want to see the two of them save the world together. The villain's plot was one of the highest-stake ones the series had to offer, but with most of the action taking place in Otheon, it allowed the protagonists to really shine.
My biggest gripe would be something the series has always done from the beginning, and that's the fact that the minor characters didn't get a lot of screentime. Several of them had cameos fighting the villains, which I appreciated, but I did find myself wishing they had a little bit more spotlight. Some of them, like Ojiro and Sato, almost seemed to be forgotten about at points. Still, it was great to see all of them fighting their hardest to save the world. It reminds you that, while Deku is the protagonist, he's not the only hero capable of making a difference, and it made the story seem that much grander.
All in all, this movie was super fun and engaging. While it lacked in some areas, it really shined in others. I happily suggest for any MHA fan to go watch this. You won't be disappointed.
